Healthy Families Healthy Futures has been operating in Northern Alberta for over 20 years, covering an area of 42,228 km2 across 8 counties, and serving over 17 communities! We are proud of the role we take in empowering people to change their lives for the better.
Our programs:
Home Visitation - Long-term support to strengthen caregiver-child relationships, promote healthy childhood growth and development, and encourage safe home environments.
PCAP Mentorship - Serving individuals of child-bearing years who use(d) drugs and/or alcohol during pregnancy or have children prenatally exposed to drugs and/or alcohol. Mentors provide extensive, practical assistance and long-term emotional support for women making fundamental changes in their lives.
Thrive Outreach - One-to-one support for those experiencing relationship abuse. We provide information on different types of abuse, practical safety and action plans, and connections to community services.
FASD - Mentorship for those who may be prenatally exposed to alcohol, possibly resulting in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Westlock Family Connections - Offering programs to build Family Capacity and Caregiver Education to support child development (ages 0 – 18) in Westlock and Westlock county.
Family Resource Networks - A central referral point for families wanting assistance to build on their strengths and develop strong familial units. Services focus on strengthening caregiver knowledge, improving child and youth development, and building resiliency to foster well-being.
Our programs are offered for FREE across a large region of Northern Alberta including Athabasca, Calling Lake, Lac La Biche, Smoky Lake, Thorhild, Westlock, Lac Ste. Anne County, Mayerthorpe, Whitecourt, Valleyview, Swan Hills, Fort Assiniboine, Barrhead, Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, and surrounding areas.
