About us
Douglas College strives to be an integral part of its community. Through research projects, on campus organizations and institutional planning we want to help make our community, and the world, a better place. We are committed to fostering an equitable, accessible, diverse and inclusive campus where all people feel a sense of belonging. We will do this by:
- Proactively identifying and addressing barriers and biases to ensure that our systems, and structures are equitable and free from racism and other forms of discrimination.
- Embedding EDI in our institutional culture, structures, policies and practices.
- Regularly evaluating and measuring our progress towards diversity, accessibility, employment equity and experience of inclusion and belonging.
Our institution respectfully acknowledges that our campuses are located on the unceded traditional and ancestral lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie), qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and qiqéyt (Qayqayt) First Nations.
