About us
SageWell is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults aged 55+ across Nova Scotia to live healthy, connected, and independent lives. With a welcoming, no-membership approach, SageWell offers accessible, low-cost (and often free) programs designed to meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of older adults—whether they attend in person or from home.
At its core, SageWell creates opportunities for connection and belonging. Through a wide range of programs—including exercise classes, pickleball, social groups, educational workshops, technology training, and special events—participants are encouraged to stay active, learn new skills, and build meaningful relationships. Programs are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, ensuring that individuals of all abilities and backgrounds feel comfortable participating.
Beyond programming, SageWell plays a vital role in reducing isolation and supporting overall well-being. Initiatives such as food delivery programs, technology support, safety education, and caregiver-focused programming help remove barriers that many older adults face. By combining practical supports with social engagement, SageWell helps individuals maintain independence while feeling valued and connected within their community.
With over 30 years of impact and a growing presence in both urban and rural communities, SageWell continues to evolve—expanding its reach, strengthening partnerships, and responding to the changing needs of older adults. Through its work, SageWell is building stronger, more inclusive communities where aging is supported, celebrated, and lived well.
