About us
CFDE seeks to tackle the social issues stemming from child poverty by assisting low-income youth in the region with obtaining school materials their family may otherwise struggle to afford. This will be done in an effort to assist parents in focusing on the payment of school fees and fees associated with extracurricular activities, that the child may not suffer from problems such as social inclusion and “fitting in,” which are factors proven to cause school performance issues.
CFDE seeks to alleviate the financial struggles that burden many young people pursuing a higher education, student-loan debt. In office, we provide students with information on the thousands of financial awards (i.e. scholarships, grants and bursaries) available to them in Alberta, focusing on the awards they best fit by assessing their current situation.
Our volunteers are working hard on events with the goal of building funds for our Youth Empowerment Grant, which we will make available to new high school graduates whom immediately enter the world of higher education.
