About us

Tea parties, beautiful brunches, and buttermilk biscuits await at The Biscuit Eater Cafe & Books in Mahone Bay on the beautiful South Shore of Mik’mak’i (Nova Scotia). Located in one of Mahone Bay’s oldest heritage buildings originally built in 1775, we are a Black led business and an award winning combination of adorable tea room and radical bookstore. Our cozy cafe is a refuge and resource for community care especially for Black, Indigenous, people of colour and Queer/2SLGBTQ+ communities. We host a weekly youth cafe, community garden, events and gatherings while serving up homemade, handmade goodness with a focus on tea towers, brunch, and Black culinary excellence. Vegan and gluten free options are available. Reservations are highly recommended!
