About us
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) provides life-changing mentoring relationships to more than 1,500 young people in the regions of Halton, Hamilton and Grand Erie. Supported by more than 800 volunteers, BBBS offers its suite of preventative mentoring programs in both 1:1 and group-based settings, which take place in the community and in more than 100 schools. Through the support of a caring and consistent adult mentor, young people build resilience and develop a stronger sense of belonging and connection to their communities. Longterm outcomes resulting from the presence of an additional caring adult, young people demonstrate increased socio-emotional competence, improved mental health and well-being, and better educational engagement and employment readiness. With the support of community, BBBS is working to achieve its vision that All Young People Realize Their Full Potential.
