Good and Housing Units Services including staff 
scheduling, supervision and coordination of Support 
Workers/other staff/students/volunteers

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

1. To liaise with community stakeholders through engagement with local groups in
the South Etobicoke area.

2. Recruit, train, hire, orient, supervise, coach and debrief Case Managers on a daily
basis.

3. Supervise students and volunteers and staff from in your related dept.
4. To ensure that all deliverables are achieved as required by our funders as per our

program Work Plans.
5. Assist with the completion of funding reports/applications, and research

initiatives as directed.
6. To maintain and submit monthly program statistics.
7. Liaise with funders and government representatives when required.
8. Complete annual staff performances including student placement evaluations;
9. Weekly and monthly tabulation and reporting of statistics internally and

externally (to funders as required) including housed and discharged client
documentation, monthly TGRIP data entry and six month reports;

10. Design and implementation of on-going follow-up services for clients after they
are housed;

11. Advocacy with landlords and other housing providers;
12. Liaison with other housing and supports agencies;


13. Development and Submission of reports, proposals and other government 
requirements as requested; 

14. Distribution of TTC fare and submissions related documentation to clients; 
15. Complete annual staff performances including student placement evaluations; 
16. Development of innovative strategies to assist ‘hard to house’ clients; 
17. Oversee case management and provide supportive counseling; 
18. Ability to resolve and de-escalate crisis situations; 
19. Conflict mediation relevant to housing maintenance 
20. Provide Senior Management Team with regular feedback about the evolution, 

program needs. 
21. Submission of Furniture Bank requests and Rental Supplement request in a 

timely manner; 
22. Daily oversight of staff attendance and DayForce entries; 
23. To maintain the confidentiality of all matters related to Human Resources. 


Administrative: 
 
1. To maintain accurate record keeping i.e. client files, statistical reports. 
2. To assist in training and supervision of students and volunteers as time allows. 
3. Assist Director with programs statistics for reporting to funder 
4. To assist in other duties as required from time to time. 
5. To participate in professional development 
6. Maintain documentation required by the H4G Program 
7. To attend and participate in staff meetings, team meetings and community 

meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
 

1. Minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience 
2. Minimum of College Diploma or University Degree in social services. 
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in social services or a related field. 
4. Experience in program development and program evaluation. 
5. Some knowledge of program and process evaluation and an interest in 

research 
6. Knowledge of community reintegration barriers for formerly incarcerated 

persons, provincial court/correctional processes, housing and homelessness 
in a local context 

7. Demonstrated experience working with a diverse ethno-racial and multi-
lingual client group. 

8. Commitment to the principles of anti-racism, anti-sexism, and to challenge 
other forms of oppression. 

9. Strong verbal and written communication skills, administrative skills, and a 
willingness to work as part of a team. 

10. Recent criminal record check

CDRC Case Manager 

Crossroads Day Reporting Centre (CDRC) 

The role is to provide day to day counselling support to clients. To 
provide crisis intervention for clients. Work directly with Correctional 
Services Canada. To complete funder reports as required. 

6 month contract with possibility of extension. Weekend availability

18. Meet with clients at a frequency to be determined based on assessment of needs and

consultation with the supervising parole officer, and accurately record all meetings, goals,

progress and activities of each client.

19. Ensure case files are maintained in compliance with agency and contract standards.

20. Demonstrate knowledge and practice of micro skills counselling and motivational counselling

techniques when liaising with peers and clients.


21. Accurately record all behaviours and activities, both reported and observed, of all clients.

22. Be knowledgeable of community services that relate to the delivery of service in the setting.

23. During his/her shift, will monitor and maintain all established Program procedures and

policies.

24. Complete and share with client, staff and CSC, any applicable reports on each of the clients

on his/her caseload in a timely fashion.

25. Liaise on an on-going basis with CSC, including discussions regarding overall progress of

each of the clients.

26. If and when appropriate, establish rapport with the family, referral worker, outside resources

and any other party who has legal involvement with the client.

27. Provide or take appropriate action to provide the client with special programs to meet their

needs.

28. Under the direction of their supervisor, organize, implement and/or deliver group or individual

programs that are aimed at addressing identified needs of individuals or groups.

29. Utilizing cognitive-behavioural techniques, assist the client in addressing the identified needs,

such as problem-solving skills, assertiveness training, communication skills, values

clarification, anger management and leisure skills.

30. Assume on-call responsibilities as appropriate.

31. Deliver services in a way that reflects the racial, cultural, linguistic and gender specific needs

of the community being served.

32. Ability to understand and apply principles of Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression Framework to

interactions

33. Actively participate in developing and implementing systems (i.e., forms, questionnaires, etc.)

that will facilitate the case management process.

34. Remain awake, alert and attentive to client needs at all times when on shift.

Qualifications: 

1. Community College Diploma or University Degree and/or combination of education and

experience

2. Previous counselling experience with individuals involved in the justice system

3. Minimum of 2 years related employment experience in criminal justice system

4. Demonstrated equivalency of experience and training will be considered.

5. Knowledge of community resources

6. Intermediate-Advanced word processing skills are required.
