About Regent Park United

Regent Park United (RPU) is a community-based soccer organization providing free, year-round programming for children and youth across Toronto. Through soccer, mentorship, and community support, RPU creates opportunities for young people to play, belong, and grow — regardless of financial barriers. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Volunteer Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing non-profit organization. This role is an important part of ensuring our programs remain sustainable and that resources are managed effectively to support hundreds of youth participants.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records using WAVE Accounting
  • Record and reconcile transactions, expenses, invoices, and receipts.
  • Support monthly bookkeeping activities and financial reporting.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related documentation as required
  • Prepare and support GST/HST filings and other required financial submissions as required
  • Help maintain organized financial records for grant reporting, audits, and organizational planning. - Work with leadership to provide financial insights and ensure strong financial practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience using WAVE Accounting or comparable accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.).
  • Accounting designation (CPA, bookkeeper certification, or equivalent) or 3+ years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and GST/HST filings.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently.
  • Experience supporting a non-profit or community organization is an asset.
  • Commitment to Regent Park United’s mission of making soccer accessible for all youth.

Time Commitment

Flexible volunteer commitment based on availability, with ongoing support throughout the year. Estimated commitment: approximately 3–5 hours per month, with additional support during reporting periods.

Why Volunteer With RPU?

Your skills will directly support a community organization helping hundreds of young people access sport, mentorship, and positive opportunities. By strengthening our financial systems, you will help ensure that more kids can continue to play, develop confidence, and build lasting connections through soccer.
