Unpaid Volunteer Position

The Child and Youth Permanency Council of Canada (CYPCC) defines permanency as a safe, stable, and lifelong relationship for children and youth, including kinship care, customary care, legal guardianship, and adoption. Cultural competency is central to permanency, as it supports identity, connection, and overall well-being.

For more than three decades, CYPCC has worked to empower youth with lived experience in the child welfare system by reducing isolation, fostering peer connection, and creating opportunities for young people to share their stories. This work strengthens youth voice and ensures their rights and needs remain central to our advocacy.

Building on this foundation, CYPCC is launching The Holistic Hub, a pilot initiative for BIPOC youth+ transitioning out of care. The Hub will move beyond traditional affordable housing supports by offering a culturally responsive space grounded in connection, community, mentorship, and empowerment. Through access to resources and meaningful support, the Hub will help youth strengthen their confidence, identity, and independence with dignity.

CYPCC is seeking a volunteer Grant Writer to support this important work. This is an opportunity for an experienced and motivated writer to contribute their skills to a meaningful community-based initiative.

Working collaboratively with CYPCC staff and reporting to the Executive Director, the volunteer Grant Writer will assist with the development of clear, compelling, and persuasive funding applications to corporations, government bodies, foundations, and other potential funders.

The ideal volunteer will bring strong writing, research, planning, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to develop persuasive cases for support and meet deadlines. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to help advance CYPCC’s mission and contribute to long-term impact for youth and families.
