About Parents Against Racism Simcoe County

Parents Against Racism Simcoe County (PARSC) is a Black-led, community-driven organization committed to disrupting anti-Black racism and systemic inequities in Simcoe County’s school systems. Through advocacy, education, and direct support for families, we work to ensure Black children and youth can learn, grow, and thrive in environments that honour their dignity, identity, and potential.

About the Allies Committee

The Allies Committee is a group of volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and skills to strengthening PARSC’s mission, vision, and values. This team supports much of the behindthe-scenes work that keeps the organization moving, research, planning, coordination, communications, strategy, while helping expand PARSC’s reach and impact.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and identities who share our commitment to equity, anti-oppressive practice, and community care.

Volunteer Roles

1. Social Media & Communications

  • Support content creation for Instagram and other platforms
  • Help raise awareness of PARSC programs, events, and community resources - Assist with scheduling posts, gathering images, and amplifying Black voices and community stories

2. Grant Research & Grant Writing

  • Assist with research, drafting, and preparing proposal materials
  • Help develop sustainable funding streams for long-term impact

  • Be part of creating meaningful community celebrations of Black excellence in Simcoe County

6. Systems Navigation Support

If you have relevant experience and weekday availability, there may be opportunities to help families navigate school or community systems. This could include supporting parents in understanding resources, options, and processes.
