For more than 50 years, Peel Cheshire Homes has provided supportive housing and services to adults living with physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries. We are seeking a collaborative Executive Director to lead the organization through its next chapter while preserving the exceptional quality of life our residents enjoy.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Peel Cheshire Homes is currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent leader who will bring their experience and hands-on leadership to oversee operations, providing a strategic lens and a desire to lead a small, highly dedicated team that provides exceptional care to 10 residents with complex needs.
The Executive Director is the senior leader of Peel Cheshire Homes and is accountable to the Board of Directors for the organization's strategic direction, financial sustainability, governance support and overall performance. Supported by a Resident Operations Manager who oversees day-to-day resident services, the Executive Director will possess the ability to move seamlessly between priorities of resident care, fiscal management, building management, relationship building with funders and other stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships within the home with residents and staff.
POSITION DETAILS
- Full-Time, Permanent
- Reports to the Board of Directors through the Board Chair
- Located in Streetsville, Mississauga
- Salary: $85,000–$90,000 plus benefits and paid vacation
- Shared on-call responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead strategic planning and organizational sustainability.
- Support Board governance, policy development, and executive reporting.
- Provide financial leadership including budgeting, forecasting, and audit oversight.
- Develop relationships with Ontario Health, funders, donors, volunteers and community partners.
- Oversee quality improvement, accreditation, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Build a high-performing culture through leadership, coaching, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Minimum five years of progressive senior leadership experience in non-profit health care, community services, disability services, public administration
- University degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with Boards of Directors, strategic planning and financial management.
- A passion for leading teams, superior business writing and communications, stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven financial management skills with ability to effectively forecast, manage and report on funding and budgets
- Superior judgement, problem solving and assessment abilities
- Experience in Policy Development
- Understanding of Change Management
- Ability to collaborate with Ontario Health Teams, Ontario Health and Region of Peel and Long-Term Care
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office; experience using accounting software and understanding of payroll processes required
- Consistent with our industry standard and board policy, the successful candidate must receive clearance by a Canadian vulnerable sector and criminal record check and provide three (3) employment related references with at least one from a direct supervisor
Preferred
- Experience with Ontario Health or publicly funded services.
- Extensive knowledge of, or experience in congregate living settings
- Have an understanding of ABI / Developmental Disabilities
- Knowledge of CARF accreditation, supportive housing or acquired brain injury services.
- Experience with fundraising, grant development and community partnerships.
