About Us

Single Women In Motherhood (S.W.I.M.) Training Program is a not-for-profit organization that supports single mothers in achieving their full financial, emotional, and intellectual potential. SWIM has been a pillar in the London Middlesex Community for almost 20 years and has worked with over 1,000 single mothers. As a not-for-profit agency SWIM relies on the commitment and dedication of its volunteers. SWIM is now looking to expand its team of Volunteers!

Job Description:

As a proposal writer you will be responsible for

  • Developing and preparing proposals that address and respond to the current requests of the organization.
  • Develop presentations for employers and field; respond to any requests for information.
  • Responsible for tracking proposals, writing proposals and other documentation, updating existing proposal databases and ensuring proposals are in compliance with instructions.
  • Work closely with Executive Director
  • Create cover letters and editing proposal and documents
  • To ensure confidentiality for S.W.I.M and its associates.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Business Communications, Journalism or Marketing
  • Posses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain working files and document revisions
  • Must be able to translate complicated ideas into effective and clear language and be able to handle and use constructive feedback in order to make needed changes to documents and proposals
  • Preferably two or more years writing and editing experience
  • Excellent organizational and commitment skills.
  • Must be able to virtually attend weekly meetings on Thursdays 3pm - 5pm
