The bus is powered not by an engine, but on foot, by the students themselves as they walk to and from school.As a volunteer, your job is to support your group’s Walk Leader. The Walk Leader manages logistics like attendance and family communications. Your role involves playing games along the walk, getting to know the participants, and making sure no one lags too far behind – you’re acting as another pair of eyes on the walk, and helping to foster community!Volunteer walking shifts are available every weekday before and after school and are typically 30 to 45 minutes in length. BCIT Foundation is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Manager, Advancement Systems. The Manager, Advancement Systems is responsible for the overall vision and strategy for systems within Advancement, particularly the Raiser’s Edge (RE) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) fundraising system. This position works with the Development and Alumni Relations teams to ensure current and future data needs are met. En raison de l’évolution constante des technologies, il peut être difficile de suivre le rythme.La personne qui occupe un poste d’accompagnateur, Compétences numériques de base fournit de l’aide à distance pour permettre aux personnes de comprendre leurs appareils technologiques, d’y accéder et de les utiliser. Le niveau de soutien requis et la fréquence des séances seront déterminés en fonction des objectifs des utilisateurs. L’accompagnateur(trice) peut prendre en charge en même temps plusieurs clients avec lesquels il ou elle sera jumelé(e). La durée de chaque jumelage peut varier, allant d’une séance unique à plusieurs semaines. With ever changing advancements in technology, it can be hard to keep up. The Digital Fundamentals Support Coach provides individuals with remote assistance to understand, access and use their technology. The amount of support required, and cadence of sessions will be based on the service user's technology goals. Coaches can take on several matches lasting from 1 session to several weeks. The OrganizationShelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence.Volunteering at Shelter Movers means contributing to a mission that will make a meaningful impact on families experiencing abuse and supporting survivors as they transition to a life free of violence. It also means playing a role in ending gender-based violence. We are growing and looking to add caring, compassionate, and dependable people to our team.The RoleMovers and Drivers are the backbone of the organization, as they carry out the mission on the ground by moving clients’ belongings to safety. In a group of 2-7 movers/drivers, guided by a detailed itinerary, volunteers will load/unload the client’s belongings into a vehicle and transport the client to the predetermined location. Rental vehicles are provided for the move, and movers who have a valid driver’s license are welcome to register as drivers. &nbsp;This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant impact through volunteering their time in a hands-on capacity for small chunks of time. The duration of each move varies, with an average of about 4-4.5 hours long from the vehicle rental pick-up time. Each move will be characterized based on the risk level and accordingly be escorted by local police, security guards, or neither. Our moves will often entail driving within and sometimes outside of the city. Further information will be shared with volunteers on a per-move basis. With our flexible volunteering model, you can sign up to volunteer on moves according to your availability.
