Description of the Role 

The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, researching, and applying for funding opportunities from 
government bodies, foundations, and other grant-making organizations. This role involves developing 
persuasive proposals and business cases that align with LandSeed’s mission and program goals. The ideal 
candidate will have strong writing skills, attention to detail, and experience in creating successful funding 
proposals, ideally within the North American context. 

Department/Team: Development &amp; Fundraising 

Duties and Responsibilities 

â Research and identify grant opportunities that align with LandSeed’s mission and programs. 
 

â Write and submit high-quality proposals, business cases, and funding applications. 
 


â Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant information, data, and stories for proposals. 
 

â Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, reporting schedules, and submission requirements. 
 

â Ensure all proposals meet funder requirements and are submitted on time. 
 

â Track application outcomes and maintain records for future reference. 
 

â Support the development of donor communications and funding reports as needed. 

Required Experience/Skills 

â Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives. 
 

â Proven research skills and attention to detail. 
 

â Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines. 
 

â Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).

Grant Writer

Board members are expected to commit to service for at least one 2-year term, with the option of remaining in their position for additional terms which is preferred.
