Content Assistant (Volunteer)
The ELIA Institute is seeking volunteer Content Assistants to help communicate research in engaging, accessible, and evidence-based ways. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy writing, science communication, education, or content creation and are passionate about making research understandable to diverse audiences.
Content Assistants work closely with the research team to transform scientific findings into educational resources, articles, social media content, workshop materials, and other public-facing communications. As a founding volunteer, you will help shape how ELIA shares knowledge with its community and contributes to public understanding of science.
What You Will Be Doing
- Transform scientific literature into accessible educational content.
- Write articles, blog posts, and research summaries.
- Draft captions and written content for social media platforms.
- Assist in developing workshop materials, presentations, and educational resources.
- Edit and proofread written materials for clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Research Assistants to ensure content reflects current evidence.
- Contribute ideas for new content initiatives and science communication projects.
- Support the organization's mission by making research engaging and accessible.
Skills Needed
Required:
- Strong written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for science communication.
- Ability to organize information clearly for different audiences.
- Reliability and willingness to collaborate.
Assets (not required):
- Background in psychology, linguistics, communications, journalism, education, marketing, or related fields.
- Experience with academic writing or content creation.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace.
- Experience writing for blogs, newsletters, or social media.
Training and mentorship will be provided.
