We are a registered charity run by volunteers, based in Mississauga, ON. We connect neighbourhoods to nature, and are working to establish a citywide network of native pollinator habitat gardens. Our education and outreach programs provide opportunities for inclusive community engagement, skill development, and collaboration. You will plan and keep track of budgets within the organization, collect, deposit, and keep track of funds, write cheques, and provide financial reports regularly to fellow committee members. You will also be responsible for reconciling bank statements, managing cash flow, investing funds in accordance with the law, and may help with fundraising efforts that support our charitable purposes.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>The Treasurer plays a key leadership role in stewarding Blooming Boulevards’ financial health and long-term sustainability. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet with, and empower, refugee newcomers to the community.Responsibilities:Volunteers will be assigned to their Welcome Groups and matched with refugee newcomer families based on things like availability, skills, location, shared interests, and family composition. We like to think there’s a match for every kind of Welcome Group.Over 3-6 months, volunteers will work together as a group to address the priorities identified by their matched household; in this way both newcomers and volunteers have an opportunity to get to know each other over time. Oakville Parent-Child Centre (OPCC) provides services and programs that make a difference for 

parents and families within the Oakville community. OPCC has been helping families with young 

children since 1980. We are a registered charity that has grown from one program in a church 

basement to a multi-service child and family centre and provincially recognized EarlyON Centre with 

several locations, outreach sites and a wide variety of programs. 

OPCC is a policy board dedicated to ensuring the mission of the organization is being upheld, the 

programs and services are responsive to community need and that the highest standards of 

professionalism, accountability and fiduciary responsibility are upheld. 


Board meetings are held in person, with the option to join virtually when necessary, approximately 6 

times per year on Monday evenings with a requirement to participate in one subcommittee of the

Established in 2016, Fetch + Releash is a volunteer run dog rescue dedicated to saving dogs in need. Our foster dogs come from a variety of different backgrounds such as pounds and shelters, strays and surrendered pets, both locally and abroad.
