The HOPE Initiative Foundation is a federally registered charity dedicated to mutual aid, student empowerment and community outreach. We work alongside marginalized groups with respect for their backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. Through mentorship, school outreach and local and international service projects, we aim to inspire youth to take action on social issues, foster empathy and build stronger, more inclusive communities. Main Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist with recruiting new members for HOPE clubs (ie. creating facebook posts, drafting emails, etc.)&nbsp;</li><li>Answering any questions new branches may have or finding support to answer the questions with the correct details Update HOPE members during general meetings on the activities of CR&nbsp;</li><li>Respond promptly to agenda and minute postings within two days&nbsp;</li></ul>Time Commitment:<ul><li>All HOPE general meetings - (1hr/week)&nbsp;</li><li>Weekly-check in meetings with Expansions Committee- (1hr/week)&nbsp;</li><li>Communicate with the Directors through messaging or call as needed. Schedule and complete follow up meetings with assigned HOPE branches (2hr/week)</li><li>Scheduling and completing initiation meeting with newly set up HOPE branch alongside follow-up meetings (2hr/week)&nbsp;</li><li>Hours of commitment may vary; approximately 6-8 hours per week.&nbsp;</li></ul>Ready to apply? As a Peer Support Group Facilitator, you will guide and support group discussions, providing a safe and empathetic environment for participants to share their experiences and receive mutual support. Our&nbsp;Mentoring with Math Program&nbsp;is designed to strengthen the impact of tutoring by adding in the element of mentorship. Volunteers meet once-a-week for 90 minute sessions during afternoons over a 10 week period, and work on numeracy, activities, and games. No previous experience with math is necessary for volunteers and all training is provided by Big Brothers. This program is offered virtually and in-person in Greater Vancouver. Our Math Mentors are<ul><li>Adults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals.</li><li>Reliable, consistent, dedicated and respectful of others.</li><li>Available to meet once weekly during weekday afternoons between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for 90-minutes for in-person sessions, or 60 minutes for virtual sessions.</li></ul>Our Mentoring with Math volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8-10 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.
