The Black Health Alliance (BHA) is a community-led registered charity working to improve 
the health and well-being of Black communities in Canada. We centre Black communities in

ROLE OVERVIEW 
Reporting to the Manager of Health Promotion &amp; Community Engagement, the role of

implementation of Black Health Alliance’s community engagement and health promotion

Alliance is working to develop both its community engagement and health promotion

development and execution of the organization's overall strategy for community

translation, that is scalable, organization to organization, and focused on mental health,

â Demonstrated expertise in engaging Black communities, particularly underserved 
communities (children, youth and their families, 2SLGBTQ+ communities, 
communities who engage in substance use, etc.) rooted in lived experiences 

â Demonstrated understanding and implementation of health equity principles 
â Understanding of preventative health strategies and risk reduction techniques 

appropriate for various age groups

Position Summary: 
Reporting to the Senior Director, Policy Planning and Investment, the Officer plays a key role in the overall 
stewardship of United Way East Ontario’s community investment in front line programs and services, 
community wide initiatives, and special gifts. 
 
This entails supporting the Community Investment team in accurate administration, tracking, and reporting of 
information related to community investment such as funding decisions, financial details, third party 
investments, agency/program site visit coordination, and application/program report data. It also includes the 
integration of information from the Research and Evaluation team to be used for internal planning purposes 
and external communication processes to various stakeholders. Finally, it includes accountability for the 
systems administration of our information and/or grant management systems. The Officer also provides 
administrative support to the Senior Director. 
 
The Officer will play a key role in the coordination of all aspects of the Call for Proposals (CFP) process 
including but not limited to responding to general questions about the Call for Proposals process, preparing 
and tracking funding agreements, tracking program reports, etc. 
 
This position is based in Ottawa but serves Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark, and Renfrew Counties. This is
