The Trek for Teens Foundation is an entirely youth-led and volunteer-run charity that focuses on

DESCRIPTION 
This position reports to the Regional Director of Toronto. You will help with the logistical 
planning and execution of Toronto region Trek for Teen events. The Toronto Event Manager will 
work closely with other members of the leadership team to ensure that event planning is

They are encouraged to take initiative and are welcome to plan their own events based on their 
passions and skills. Through this position, the candidate will truly be able to help the greater

About Village Theatre Waterdown (VTW) 

Village Theatre Waterdown (VTW) is a charitable community theatre dedicated to 
producing high-quality theatrical experiences and community events. For over 50 years, 
VTW has engaged over 100 volunteers and artists annually to bring theatre to the Greater 
Hamilton area. We are seeking an individual with a passion for theatre and an interest in 
sharing their expertise to help achieve the goals of a charitable community.


Role Overview 

The Lead Promotion Coordinator serves as a board member and plays a vital role in 
building public awareness and audience engagement for VTW’s productions and events. 
In this dual capacity, the individual not only leads promotional strategies but also serves 
as a key member of the Marketing and Communications team. This individual works 
closely with show producers and directors to lead strategic promotional efforts. This role is 
ideal for someone who enjoys collaboration, creativity, and utilizing modern 
communication tools to promote the arts. 

Time Commitment: 

 • 8-10 hours per month (includes attendance at a 2-hour monthly executive meeting) 
 • Time commitment typically increases in the 2–3 months leading up to a production, 

with two productions a year – Spring &amp; Fall 

Key Responsibilities 

Marketing Strategy &amp; Planning 

 • Develop and execute tailored marketing and communications plans for each 
production 

 • Collaborate with the Director and Producer to align messaging and promotional 
timelines 

 • Develop content and execute the design of playbills for each production

Advertising &amp; Creative Coordination

About Village Theatre Waterdown (VTW) 

Village Theatre Waterdown (VTW) is a charitable community theatre dedicated to 
producing high-quality theatrical experiences and community events. For over 50 years, 
VTW has engaged over 100 volunteers and artists annually to bring theatre to the Greater 
Hamilton area. We are seeking an individual with a passion for theatre and an interest in 
sharing their expertise to help achieve the goals of a charitable community. 


Role Overview 

The Social Media Coordinator plays an integral role in increasing awareness and visibility of 
VTW’s productions and events. Reporting to the Promotion Coordinator and working 
alongside the Marketing &amp; Communications team, this position manages VTW’s digital 
storytelling through engaging, timely, and mission-aligned content across all social 
platforms 

Time Commitment: 

 • 4–6 hours per month (flexible, with increased activity around productions and major 
events) 

 • Time commitment typically increases in the 2–3 months leading up to a production 

Key Responsibilities 

 • Social Media Strategy &amp; Content Creation 
o Create and manage content calendars for platforms like Facebook, 

Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) 
o Design graphics or coordinate with designers for engaging visuals and event 

promotions 
o Write and post compelling content, including show teasers, volunteer 

spotlights, behind-the-scenes looks, and event updates 
o Send campaign notifications via email to the VTW mailing list on MailChimp 

 • Community Engagement 


o Monitor and respond to messages, comments, and tags in a timely and 
respectful manner 

o Encourage online dialogue, build audience engagement, and maintain a 
positive digital tone 

 • Collaboration &amp; Campaigns 
o Work with the Promotion Coordinator and show teams to coordinate 

promotions and key messaging 
o Schedule posts based on show timelines, ticket sales goals, and 

organizational campaigns 
 • Analytics &amp; Insights 

o Track post-performance and engagement using platform insights 
o Make recommendations for improving reach and impact based on analytics 

 • Cross-Promotion 
o Coordinate with community partners, sponsors, and artists to cross-

promote relevant content 
o Share and amplify relevant local theatre content to foster regional arts 

connections 


Requirements 

 • Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X, and 
YouTube) 

 • Ability to write engaging content tailored for different audiences 
 • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) or willingness to learn 
 • Strong organizational and planning skills 
 • A passion for the arts and community engagement 
 • Photography or videography skills are a bonus, but not required 
 • Membership with VTW is required

Position: Member, Board of Directors for Compass Community 
Services 

About the position 

Join our Board of Directors! 

Compass Community Services (CCS) is an integral part of the community and provides mental health and 

social services to a growing number of individuals, families, and children. These services guide people 

through life’s challenges, whether emotional, developmental or professional. The programs provided by 

CCS deeply impact people’s lives. 

We are currently recruiting new members to serve on our Board of Directors. Specifically, we are seeking to 

fill 1 – 2 Board vacancies, specifically an individual to serve as Treasurer and those with fundraising 

experience. These are volunteer positions serving Guelph and Wellington County and surrounding areas. 

Serving on our Board of Directors will provide you the opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring that our 

vision, mission and values continue to meet the needs of our community. 

Key Commitments 

 • Minimum 2-year term 

Average of 2 - 4 hours per month to: 

 • Review Board meeting materials 

 • Attend Board / Committee meetings 

 • Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) 

 • Attend occasional agency or community events 

 • Participation in occasional board training events 

 • Participation in at least one Board Committee (e.g. Marketing &amp; Communications, Governance, etc.) 

 • Board meetings occur bi-monthly on weekday evenings from fall through spring. Committee 

meetings generally occur between Board meetings and the AGM typically occurs in September. 

Desired Qualifications 

 • Lived experience representative of the diversity in Guelph and Wellington County 

 • Previous Board experience is preferred, ideally in a not-for-profit community services agency 

 • Knowledge / expertise in one or more of the following areas: legal, regulatory compliance, human 

resources management, finance, not-for-profit governance, fundraising, areas of CCS’s activities 

 • Knowledge and understanding of community services and their functions is ideal
