This position is primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of the Foundation’s financials to increase the efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring the Foundation is meeting CRA requirements and other business standards.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:Financial Support<ul><li>Process the accounts payable and associated procedures in accordance with the Foundation’s guidelines. Enter expenses into general ledger; prepare reports for reconciliation and direct deposit payments.</li><li>Assist with the monthly bank reconciliation process by recording all revenue and adjustments in both Raiser’s Edge and QuickBooks to ensure integrity of the internal control system.</li><li>Assist with month end reports and schedules including prepaids, fixed assets, accrued liabilities and investments.</li><li>Assists in the draft year-end financial statements and related year end reports for audit. Provide requested backups and reports ensuring they are fulfilled by the due date. Liaises with and assists the Organization’s external auditors’ inquiries.</li><li>Assist with the preparation of yearly T3010 Charitable Information return, as needed.</li><li>Assist with other accounting and financial functions and procedures, as needed.</li></ul>Gift Administration &amp; Donor Services<ul><li>Coordinate the process of all revenue in accordance with CRA guidelines and the Foundation’s standards including gifts of securities, gift-in-kinds, pledge commitments, monthly donor transmission and online gifts.</li><li>Assist with the lottery revenue process including financial reconciliation, monitoring ticket purchase processes, and preparing the lottery report in accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.</li><li>Provide support to the Donor Services Associate on our team through continued training, and organizing workflow.</li><li>Provide support for special projects and activities which may include training on system components and practices, integration projects with other database systems.</li><li>Provide support at signature events and perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Skills and Knowledge Required<ul><li>Post-secondary education, with experience in the not-for-profit sector, an asset.</li><li>Strong bookkeeping, auditing and accounting skills related to accounts payable and account receivable. PRIMARY OBJECTIVEThe Marketing &amp; Communications Coordinator will help enable the growth of Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) Foundation to drive revenue and maximize public awareness and exposure through optimizing and growing the Foundation’s traditional and digital strategies as part of the overall Marketing &amp; Communication plan.The Marketing &amp; Communications Coordinator will support a variety of marketing needs of the Foundation, working cross-functionally and in collaboration with the Oak Valley Health’s Public Affairs and Communications team to provide an exceptional donor experience and engage the community in consistent and meaningful ways.
