Gutsy Walk is Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s signature national fundraising event celebrated on the first Sunday of June each year. Thousands of people across Canada come together on one day to raise money to advance medical research and improve the lives of Canadians who are affected by these diseases.&nbsp;&nbsp;This role involves in-person interactions.&nbsp;&nbsp;Responsibilities:&nbsp;<ul><li>Adhere to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Work collaboratively with a team of volunteers to plan and promote your local Gutsy Walk.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Act as a role model by registering for Gutsy Walk and supporting fundraising, directly or indirectly (by sharing new ideas and leads, doing your own fundraising, promoting the event amongst your network&nbsp;</li></ul>Ways You Can Support Your Local Gutsy Walk:&nbsp;<ul><li>&nbsp;Attend Gutsy Walk Planning: Participate in scheduled meetings to stay informed, share updates, and take on assigned tasks.&nbsp;</li><li>Community Outreach –Inspire participation by posting on community boards, distributing posters, and spreading the word locally.&nbsp;</li><li>Media Relations – Connect with local media outlets to promote the Gutsy Walk&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Social Media – Raise awareness about Crohn’s and colitis and promote the Gutsy Walk through your own social media channels.&nbsp;</li><li>Sponsorship – Engage local businesses by sharing your story and presenting sponsorship packages (with staff support for follow-up). Encourage donations, sponsorships, and gifts-in-kind by identifying potential contributors.&nbsp;</li><li>Network&nbsp; – build relationships with Gutsy Walk Committee, local community members and participants. As a volunteer with Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, the impact of your efforts will be felt by the millions of Canadians affected by Crohn's or colitis today, and for years to come.&nbsp; &nbsp;We are seeking individuals passionate about making a difference in their community to join a team of dedicated volunteers in the role of Volunteer Engagement Lead.&nbsp; &nbsp;This role involves virtual and/or in-person interactions.&nbsp;Are you the right fit for the team?&nbsp;&nbsp;As the Volunteer Engagement Lead, you will provide support to the Chapter, including:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Adhering to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Work closely with staff partner and Chapter Executive to identify volunteer opportunities and lead recruitment efforts (locally and taking advantage of national resources and platforms)&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure Chapter volunteers are provided with the support, orientation/training and communication needed to be fully supported and productive team members&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Participate in local, regional and national recognition opportunities (i.e. National Volunteer Week, International Volunteer Day) to communicate the impact of local volunteers&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Share local volunteer successes, stories and gaps with staff partner&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Participate as available on task forces and working groups on national volunteer engagement projects and initiatives&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>Time Commitment:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>1-3 hours per week for ongoing support and liaison with staff partner, Chapter volunteers&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Evening and weekend activity is required to attend Chapter meetings and capture high traffic times. Some daytime availability is ideal for liaison with staff partner (phone calls, emails)&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>This role requires a commitment of a minimum of 1 year&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>What you bring:&nbsp;<ul><li>Experience with recruitment, screening, placement, and background in HR/Volunteer Engagement is ideal.
