The Opportunity

As the Specialist, In-School Programs, you will coordinate the planning, delivery, and continuous 
improvement of in-school initiatives including STEM Clubs, STEM Academy, and workshops. 
You will work closely with Site Leads, Program Facilitators, and schools to ensure programs are 
well-resourced, effectively delivered, and aligned with VoS’s curriculum expectations and 
learning goals. 

Your work will be inquiry-driven, equity-informed, and designed to support youth in Grades 6 to 
8 as they strengthen future-ready skills, explore STEM, and build brighter pathways for their 
learning and growth. This position balances program coordination with partnership support, 
ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across multiple school sites.

Key Responsibilities 

Program Coordination &amp; Delivery 

â Coordinate in-school STEM Clubs, STEM Academy sessions, and workshops including 
scheduling, logistics, facilitator support, and resource preparation. 

â Work with Site Leads to align day-to-day program delivery, troubleshoot challenges, and 
maintain consistency across sites. 

â Support the adaptation of curriculum and activities to diverse school contexts, ensuring 
sessions are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with VoS’s curriculum expectations and 
learning goals. 

â Ensure all materials, supplies, and equipment are organized and ready for each session 
or event. 

School &amp; Partner Coordination 

â Liaise with principals, teachers, and administrators to confirm schedules, manage 
logistics, and strengthen school partnerships. 

â Provide responsive communication and logistical support to schools, Site Leads, 
facilitators, and community partners. 

â Collaborate with internal teams on key program moments such as culminating 
showcases. 

Program Monitoring &amp; Improvement

â Track registration, attendance, and student feedback to monitor program effectiveness 

and outcomes. 
â Support reporting and reflection processes that inform program development and 

decision-making. 
â Maintain accurate and timely records of program participation, school partners, and 

outcomes in a CRM system. 
â Coordinate special projects such as culminating showcases, multi-school collaborations, 

or pilot initiatives. 

Team Support &amp; Internal Coordination 

â Manage internal calendars, program trackers, and communications to keep all in-school 
initiatives on schedule. 

â Support the onboarding, training, and ongoing guidance of Site Leads and Program 
Facilitators.

What We’re Looking For 

Education &amp; Training 

â Post-secondary education in education, STEM, or a related field, or equivalent 
combination of training and experience. 

â Ongoing commitment to professional development and continuous learning. 

Required Experience &amp; Expertise 

â 3–5 years of experience in program coordination, education, or community-based 
initiatives, ideally within STEM or youth-serving contexts. 

â Demonstrated ability to manage logistics across multiple sites. 
â Strong interpersonal skills with experience supporting teams and building partnerships. 
â Familiarity with equity-informed and inquiry-based approaches to education. 
â Experience monitoring programs and reporting on outcomes. 
â Proficiency with productivity and project management tools such as Google Suite and 

Asana. 
â Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) to track 

participation, partnerships, and program outcomes. 
â Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for showcases, family events, or 

community programming.

We are seeking a strategic and relationship-oriented Coordinator to lead our partnership 
engagement and community outreach efforts. This role plays a key part in shaping and 
managing collaborative relationships with community agencies, and sector partners that 
advance our mission of STEM equity. 
 
In this role, you will lead initiatives that strengthen our presence in communities and broaden 
access to impactful STEM learning experiences. This includes cultivating external partnerships, 
planning and implementing outreach and recruitment strategies, and overseeing community 
events and school-based programming. You will support the delivery of STEM workshops, 
STEM kits, and curriculum-aligned experiences that bring STEM to life for youth in classrooms

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION!Share your skills, knowledge and experience with young entrepreneurs through the JA Company Program.JA’s Company Program is an 18-week entrepreneurial journey for high school students. Participants create, run and liquidate their very own business with the support of adult volunteer advisors. This unique learning experience empowers young people in grades 9-12 with the skills, connections, and confidence to build something incredible - a business, a community, and a bright future.BECOME A JA COMPANY PROGRAM ADVISORAs a volunteer Company Program advisor, you will inspire students to dream big and set ambitious goals. Working alongside a team of business professionals, advisors act as mentors, role models and facilitators to a group of 10-25 high school students. Across 18 weeks, these students will create, run and liquidate a unique business.WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?<ul><li>We encourage volunteers from all professional backgrounds and areas of expertise to participate.&nbsp;</li><li>Advisors do not require specific expertise or knowledge, only a passion and willingness to support young people and the ability to foster teamwork.&nbsp;</li><li>The JA Company Program team provides resources, training, and support for all volunteers.&nbsp;</li><li>Volunteers must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check and provide two references to participate in the program. Details and instructions will be provided at registration.</li></ul>WHY VOLUNTEER?<ul><li>Become a role model and mentor for young people in your community</li><li>Empower young people with the skills to build thriving communities</li><li>Enhance your leadership, presentation, and facilitation skills</li><li>Meet like-minded professionals from across Central Ontario</li></ul>ABOUT COMPANY PROGRAM&nbsp;<ul><li>In-Person: The program will be running in-person across Central Ontario with limited virtual options</li><li>Number of advisors: Each advising team will consist of 3 to 8 volunteer advisors who work collaboratively to support and facilitate the program.&nbsp;</li><li>Number of students: With your advising team, you will be supporting a team of 10 to 25 high school students. You will be mentoring the same group of students for the entirety of the program.&nbsp;</li><li>One business: The group of students you work with will come up with one business to create and run over the 18 weeks.&nbsp;</li><li>Curriculum: Resources, training, and support for all volunteers are provided by the JA Central Ontario Company Program team</li></ul>TIME COMMITMENT<ul><li>Minimum Commitment: 3 to 4 hours weekly from November to April, including 3 hours weekly for program meetings (set date/time each week) and 1 hour weekly for prep time and/or to answer student and JA inquiries (will vary by week).&nbsp;</li><li>Attendance: Advisors must attend a minimum of 75% of weekly meetings.&nbsp;</li><li>Training: Advisors must attend one or two* mandatory evening virtual training sessions in October and other training calls throughout the year as required.&nbsp;</li><li>*New advisors will be required to attend two virtual trainings in October</li></ul>PROGRAM TIMELINE<ul><li>September: Volunteer Registration &amp; Vulnerable Sector Check Screening</li><li>October: Mandatory First Year Advisor Training (Thursday, October 16) &amp; Mandatory Full Advisor Training &nbsp;(Tuesday, October 21)</li><li>November to April: The program will run November 3, 2025 to April 10, 2026. Meetings will not take place during the holidays or March Break.</li></ul>
