Our&nbsp;Mentoring with Math Program&nbsp;is designed to strengthen the impact of tutoring by adding in the element of mentorship. Volunteers meet once-a-week for 90 minute sessions during afternoons over a 10 week period, and work on numeracy, activities, and games. No previous experience with math is necessary for volunteers and all training is provided by Big Brothers. This program is offered virtually and in-person in Greater Vancouver. Our Math Mentors are<ul><li>Adults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals.</li><li>Reliable, consistent, dedicated and respectful of others.</li><li>Available to meet once weekly during weekday afternoons between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for 90-minutes for in-person sessions, or 60 minutes for virtual sessions.</li></ul>Our Mentoring with Math volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8-10 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program. Groups meet once weekly for 90 minute sessions during weekday afternoons at schools/community centres and engage in life skills, communication, and social-emotional discussions to encourage healthy life-long habits. The program is led by 2-3 mentors to a group of Littles and runs once a season for 8 to 10 weeks. Our Group Mentors are<ul><li>Male, trans, and gender diverse individuals who are 18+.</li><li>Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others.</li><li>Available to meet once weekly for 90-minute sessions from Monday to Friday between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.</li></ul>Our Game On! volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program. Our Group Mentees are<ul><li>Boys, trans, and gender diverse children and youth in grades 4 to 7.</li><li>Youth who could benefit from building self-confidence and learning healthy lifestyle choices.</li></ul>Locations: Schools and community centres across Greater Vancouver. Who are we at the core:&nbsp;Look Good Feel Better is a national charity dedicated to empowering people facing all cancers through knowledge, support and confidence. Our core workshop, available through more than 80 cancer centres across Canada (and online) helps individuals safely manage the appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatment so they can feel more like themselves again.&nbsp;Powered by over 1,000 dedicated volunteers delivering compassionate care and expertise, we are a trusted voice in self-care, emotional well-being, and community connection.About the Role:We are currently recruiting passionate volunteers across Canada to lead or support our Skincare &amp; Makeup Workshops for people facing cancer.For over 30 years, these workshops have offered participants a chance to manage the appearance-related effects of cancer treatment through gentle skincare routines and cosmetic techniques. Volunteers coach participants through steps like applying foundation, concealer, and blush; recreating the appearance of eyebrows and lashes; and encouraging self-expression in a safe, supportive space.These sessions provide more than practical tips — they offer a rare moment of fun, confidence, and connection during a vulnerable time.Who we're looking for:We’re seeking professional beauty experts who are not only skilled in makeup and skincare, but who also bring compassion, empathy, and clear, gentle communication to every session. Whether you're a makeup artist, esthetician, or skincare specialist, your expertise can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people navigating cancer treatment.Requirements:<ul><li>Trained as a makeup artist (MUA), esthetician, or beauty/skincare professional, or experience working in a dermatology office or skincare clinic</li><li>Able to teach makeup application techniques in a clear, step-by-step way</li><li>Comfortable supporting individuals undergoing cancer treatment through both one-on-one and group facilitation</li><li>Confident coaching participants to apply their own makeup while offering hands-on support when needed</li><li>Brings a warm, empathetic and inclusive approach to create a welcoming, supportive environment for all</li><li>Committed to attending workshops regularly, collaborating with your local team, and supporting a cohesive and respectful volunteer experience.</li></ul>Time Commitment:Volunteers must be available once a month for 3 to 3.5 hours at a set day, date, and time.
