In partnership with the Niagara Region Indigenous Community, Bethlehem Housing and Support Services (BHSS) will operate a Supportive Transitional Housing program for women and children in the city of Fort Erie.&nbsp; We are seeking two Community Service Navigators (CSN) who will&nbsp;provide advocacy and support to clients in the Transitional Housing Program to achieve community integration while working on a long-term plan to achieve housing stability in the community.&nbsp; &nbsp;The Navigator will work with Indigenous women and children, and those facing issues such as poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, mental health issues, addiction issues and/or family breakdown.&nbsp;In collaboration with the staff team, the program provides safe transitional housing, basic structure in independent living, support with goal setting, and personal capacity building programs.&nbsp; By creating and offering this supportive environment, clients and their families can overcome trauma, address the issues that have led to or kept them homeless, and begin to rebuild their lives through a support network.&nbsp;QUALIFICATIONS &amp; COMPETENCIES<ul><li>Diploma or Degree in Social Services or another public service-related field.</li><li>Minimum of two years in related social service experience, preferably with direct program delivery, frontline or client facing role in the areas of supportive housing, violence against women, mental health, homelessness, and/or addictions. Position Overview: 

Easter Seals Ontario (ESO) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Engagement Officer. 
This role is integral to helping develop and implement purposeful engagement to meet and identify the 
needs of our clients and service users while ensuring effective interaction. 

Duties &amp; Responsibilities: 

 • Ambassador Program: 20% 
 

o Assist with the annual application and selection process of Easter Seals Ontario Provincial 
Ambassadors. 

o Act as a liaison between Easter Seals Ontario, staff and Ambassadors/families. 
o Organize and maintain a schedule and travel arrangements for speaking engagements at 

special events. 
 

 • Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Recruitment and Training: 30% 
 

o Organize bi-monthly virtual meetings with ESO SEAC representatives across Ontario. 
o Prepare agendas and take minutes. 
o Collect updates from ESO SEAC representatives to provide to the Minister's Advisory 

Council on Special Education (MACSE) 3 times per year. 
o Attend monthly virtual meetings with the Provincial Parent Association Advisory Committee 

on SEAC (PAAC on SEAC). 
o Share all Ministry of Education updates with ESO SEAC representatives. 
o Recruit parent volunteers for SEAC positions across the province. 
o Provide on-boarding training sessions and specific training as needed and support SEAC 

representatives in their roles. 
o Report and/or elevate pertinent issues to the Senior Manager, Services as necessary. 

 
 • Scholarship Program: 25% 

 
o Assist with the development and posting of the annual scholarship application process. 
o Promote ESO scholarships via school boards, post-secondary accessibility services 

departments, scholarship posting sites, and other organizations. 
o Review and manage scholarship applications from submission to awarding recipients. 
o Follow up with successful applicants to ensure compliance with the scholarship application 

criteria (thank you letter to donor, proof of tuition and payments). 


o Confirm attendance of scholarship recipients at Annual General Meeting and assist with 
script content.

Qualifications: 
 

 • Minimum of 5 years of experience in family or community engagement, advocacy, or a related

OST/PM is an Ontario Ministry of Health funded initiative that connects agencies across Ontario.&nbsp;To learn more about OST/PM, visit:&nbsp;<a href="https://onestoptalk.ca/" target="_blank">https://onestoptalk.ca</a>RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Ensure clinicians adherence to program policies, procedures, and workflows by providing support and oversight to clinicians while on the OST/PM platform.</li><li>Provide ongoing in the moment support for participating clinicians (e.g. support meetings such as the clinician huddles, support clinician inquiries, and communicate technology and workflow updates).</li><li>Support ongoing relationships and communications with participating agencies and organizations (e.g. support planning for monthly/ bi-monthly meetings such as the manager meetings, platform team meetings, community of practice etc.)</li><li>Support onboarding of new clinicians by ensuring they complete all relevant trainings, access training platforms and meet with them to assess readiness for live platform.</li><li>Work in collaboration with OST/PM Manager to review and meet platform, clinician and program needs.</li><li>Review, identify and support program manual and documents update to provide clear and up-to-date guidance.</li><li>Ensure effective stakeholder engagement to support program success and growth.</li><li>Provide support to the Manager, OST/PM with operational tasks related to program service delivery.</li><li>Establish and maintain partnerships across the province for long-term success through regular contact and engagement.</li><li>Engage with existing partners to support and maintain relationships and offer any relevant supports.</li><li>Work with project team to review partnership status, identify potential and engage in building partnerships</li><li>Escalate high priority risks, issues and queries requiring intervention to the Manager, OST/ PM.</li><li>Document project risks and issues; escalate to Manager, OST/PM, as required.</li><li>Focus on building cross-team collaborations and identifying issues for discussion and follow-up at operations team meetings.</li><li>Support preparation of meeting materials for councils, committee (s) and stakeholders.</li><li>Identify policies and procedures that are required for ongoing program sustainment.</li><li>Communicate organizational and program goals to stakeholders when necessary.</li><li>Support in the preparation of draft materials to respond to Ministry requests, including briefing notes, submissions, and funding requests.</li><li>Document key information (e.g. contact information, clinical hour commitment, attendance) for all participating agencies and organizations.</li><li>Contribute as part of the Strategy Department to organizational development and planning, and to the activities and priorities of the Strategy/ Lead Agency Team.</li><li>Focus on building cross-team collaborations and identifying issues for discussion and follow-up at operations team meetings.</li><li>Attend and contribute to Strategy Department meetings by participating in team discussions.</li><li>Attend and contribute to agency wide meetings.</li><li>Facilitate and participate in events such as workshops and Annual General Meeting.</li><li>Promote a workplace culture that is consistent with the organization's mission, vision, guiding principles.</li><li>Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity across the organization.</li><li>Join committees, working groups and task forces as needs arise.</li><li>Take on tasks and responsibilities that promote the organization’s priorities where possible.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION<ul><li>Degree in Mental Health related field.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in the child and youth mental health field, preferably with knowledge and understanding in clinical settings with multi-disciplinary teams.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working with youth and communities from diverse backgrounds including working with but not limited to, Indigenous, Black, and Francophone populations.</li><li>Experience with brief/walk-in counselling services.</li><li>Trained in an evidence-based model of therapy.</li><li>Experience with virtual counselling.</li><li>Experience working in or with community mental health agencies.</li><li>Trained in conflict resolution.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills.</li><li>Certification or specialized training in Quality Improvement, Stakeholder Engagement or Co-Design Methodology, Change Management and/or Project Management would be an asset.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities is an asset.</li><li>Experience working in or with community mental health agencies is an asset.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE<ul><li>Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of and imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts for service users.</li><li>Awareness and understanding of the necessity of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.</li><li>An understanding of Anti-Black Racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health when working with clients and their families.</li><li>Very strong interpersonal skills, adept at relationship building, influence, and persuasion, and demonstrated political acumen.</li><li>Private space within a home office environment that includes appropriate safeguards in order to provide a confidential service.</li><li>Trained in an evidence-based model of therapy.</li><li>SST training or experience or combination of both.</li><li>Oversight experience of similar types of services.</li><li>Effective team building in the context of a culturally diverse working environment.</li><li>Superior organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent communication skills as well as effective judgment, presentation, and conflict management skills.</li><li>Prior experience in the not-for-profit sector.</li><li>Knowledge Single Session Therapy and/or Solution-Focused Brief Therapy training or experience or combination of both would be an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of the regional and cultural diversity of communities across Ontario would be an asset.</li><li>Fluency in French and English is preferred.</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS<ul><li>Remote working environment, on site when necessary.</li><li>Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary (Hours: 11:00am - 7:00pm/ 12:00pm - 8:00pm rotation;
