Summary:&nbsp;Provides clinical counselling and ongoing supervision of staff after assessing client’s social, psychological, emotional, and/or behavioural issues and by developing therapeutic programs and interventions.Key Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Supervise clinical counsellors, providing regular case consultation, performance feedback, and professional development support to ensure adherence to best practices and organizational standards.</li><li>Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and consultation to interdisciplinary staff, students, and partners by supporting case discussions, recommending evidence-based interventions, and promoting effective, continuous care for youth and families.</li><li>Oversee daily operations of walk-in counselling and allied health services, managing caseloads, supervising interns, and ensuring culturally responsive, evidence-informed practice.</li><li>Collaborate with inter-professional teams and community partners to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for youth and families, ensuring services are coordinated and client centered.</li><li>Design and deliver clinical education and training for staff and service providers using evidence-based models and adult learning principles; create relevant materials and evaluate effectiveness.</li><li>Support and supervise walk-in counselling staff and interns, including onboarding, annual performance evaluation input, and identifying learning needs to ensure clinical growth and competency.</li><li>Lead or participate in committees, case management meetings, and community initiatives, representing the clinical perspective and supporting the development of integrated service pathways.</li><li>Engage in public education, staff training, and outreach, delivering presentations, facilitating support groups, and promoting prevention strategies within the community.</li></ul>Counselling and Case Management Skills:<ul><li>Knowledge and awareness of a wide range of individual and family counselling techniques.</li><li>Knowledge of the principles of Integrated Case Management and ability to apply these principles in practice when working with allied professionals involved with clients.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of the broad range of issues pertaining to mental health and substance use among adolescents, young adults, and their families.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory and consultative processes and of clinical supervision models, with the ability to identify learning needs, teach, coach and provide clinical information and supervision.</li><li>Demonstrated therapeutic skills and the ability to apply theory and practice in the areas of case management and individual, family and group therapy with clients with a variety of mental health and substance use disorders.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and application of trauma-informed and culturally safe principles of care.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of team-based primary care.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Acts, pertinent regulations, policy, procedures and other statutory and certification requirements (i.e. Mental Health Act; Adult Guardianship Act; Health Care (Consent) and Care Facility (Admission) Act; Child, Family and Community Service Act; and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).</li><li>Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, and provide clinical support.</li><li>Effective listening and consensus building skills that promote communication and lead to a cooperative approach to problem solving and decision making within interdisciplinary settings.</li><li>Ability to manage crisis situations and provide leadership to staff in the management of client crises.</li><li>Ability to make effective referrals in a collaborative manner, reflecting in-depth knowledge of community resources and strong collaborative skills in working with other community partners.</li><li>Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.</li></ul>Other Skills &amp; Abilities:<ul><li>Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding of the client population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.</li><li>Able to form a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families in which they are helped to gain skills and confidence to address any issues and problems they face.</li><li>Able to accept the differences they will find among their clients.</li><li>Accept clients’ rights to self-determination and individuality and must not discriminate on the basis of Indigenous identity, race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, socio-economic status, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or age.</li><li>Able and willing to understand young offender issues and to be trained in working with offenders.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and sensitivity in working with Indigenous and multicultural issues preferred.</li><li>Able to work effectively with others in a multicultural environment, independently and as part of an interprofessional team, including understanding the frameworks of other disciplines.</li><li>Have basic computer and Internet skills.</li></ul>Qualifications – Education/Experience<ul><li>Master’s degree in counselling psychology or a related counselling field</li><li>Ability to register as a Clinical Counsellor</li><li>At least 3 years of recent related experience, including 1 year of supervisory experience</li><li>Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team</li><li>Experience working directly with youth</li></ul>Other Job requirements.<ul><li>Criminal records check clearance, including vulnerable sector clearance.</li><li>Follow the Code of Ethics and the Mission Statement of SHARE Family &amp; Groups meet once weekly for 90 minute sessions during weekday afternoons at schools/community centres and engage in life skills, communication, and social-emotional discussions to encourage healthy life-long habits. The program is led by 2-3 mentors to a group of Littles and runs once a season for 8 to 10 weeks. Our Group Mentors are<ul><li>Male, trans, and gender diverse individuals who are 18+.</li><li>Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others.</li><li>Available to meet once weekly for 90-minute sessions from Monday to Friday between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.</li></ul>Our Game On! volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.
