The Opportunity 
 
We’re looking for a masterful connector. A connector of people, ideas, and experiences to create moments 
that matter for donors; ensuring UNICEF Canada remains the charity of choice for our supporters. 
 
Reporting to the Director of Donor Journeys &amp; Growth, the Senior Manager will lead the development and 
implementation of a series of journeys and programs to improve retention and maximize revenue within the 
Individual Giving team’s product portfolio. 
 
This role will be responsible for a shared revenue target of over $20 million, and additional retention metrics. 
 
Key Accountabilities 
 
Donor Journeys &amp; Revenue Generation (40%) 
ï· Develop and execute data-informed, multichannel strategies to engage UNICEF Canada’s donors and 

demonstrate the impact of their giving. 
ï· Lead the full donor lifecycle across multiple products – from onboarding and upgrades to cross-sell and 

winback. 
ï· Establish a robust test-and-learn framework to drive continuous optimization of donor journeys and 

programs. 
ï· Analyze donor behavior and churn to inform segmentation, retention, and loyalty strategies. 
ï· Champion the donor voice by enhancing segmentation and personalization to boost engagement and 

lifetime value. 
ï· Manage internal and external partners to optimize performance across channels including mail, email, 

digital, phone, and SMS. 
ï· Apply best practices from UNICEF specialists and peers to integrate online/offline channels and trigger-

based communications. 
ï· Collaborate with Acquisition and Digital teams to share insights and refine donor profiles. 

 
Program Management, Reporting &amp; Data Analysis (25%) 
ï· Monitor and manage retention performance to drive in-year results and lifetime value, providing regular 

updates to the Director and key stakeholders. 
ï· Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement gap-closing or growth strategies that enhance 

program ROI. 
ï· Manage individual budget/P&amp;L and collaborate on the overall Individual Giving marketing budget, including 

monthly financial tracking and forecasting. 
ï· Provide annual revenue and expense forecasts, calendarize activities, and lead quarterly reforecasting. 
ï· Develop and maintain process maps outlining communication flows and touchpoints for each donor 

segment. 
ï· Ensure business rules are clearly documented and consistently followed across the organization. 
ï· Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all legal agreements and contracts. 
 

Strategic Planning (25%) 
ï· Collaborate with the Director and key partners to develop the annual strategy, budget, and content plan for 

stewardship and retention initiatives. 
ï· Design, implement, and evaluate retention and value-maximization strategies using a test-and-learn 

approach. 
ï· Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to continuously optimize donor retention and growth efforts. 
ï· Identify and apply new donor-centric communication and marketing opportunities through sector 

monitoring, networking, and collaboration with UNICEF Global and strategic partners. 
 
People and Team Management (10%) 
ï· Foster a team culture focused on learning, development, and growth.

Qualifications 
 

ï· 5–7 years of progressive experience in marketing or fundraising, with a focus on data-driven strategies and 
donor/customer retention. 

ï· Post-secondary education in Marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
ï· Strong strategic and analytical skills, with experience in business planning and strategy development. 
ï· Deep understanding of donor retention, loyalty, and lifetime value drivers. 
ï· Proven expertise in direct response marketing across digital, print, and telemarketing channels, with a 

focus on metrics and best practices. 
ï· Solid financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting experience. 
ï· Excellent project management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple 

priorities. 
ï· Demonstrated success managing internal and external partners to deliver multichannel campaigns with a 

test-and-learn mindset. 
ï· Confident communicator and influencer with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
ï· Proactive, results-driven work ethic with a collaborative and team-oriented approach. 
ï· Experience with Raiser’s Edge, marketing automation tools, propensity modeling, and intermediate Excel 

skills is an asset.

The Opportunity 
 
As the Senior Manager, Youth Programs, you’ll boldly drive UNICEF Canada’s mission to place young 
people at the heart of everything we do. Reporting to the Director, Policy and Research, you’ll lead the charge 
in shaping and executing a visionary approach to youth engagement and advocacy across Canada. 
 
In this high-impact role, you’ll lead the design, delivery, and evolution of innovative youth programs that 
empower young people to speak up, shape policy, and spark change. You’ll collaborate with UNICEF Canada 
teams (including advocacy, communications, and more!) to ensure youth voices are not only heard but 
embedded in the DNA of our work. 
 
You’ll also serve as UNICEF Canada’s Child Safeguarding Lead, championing safe, inclusive, and ethical

Key Accountabilities 
 
Design and Deliver Youth Programs (50%) 
 • Lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of five integrated youth programs: U-Report 

Canada, Youth Advocacy Program, the annual Youth Advocacy Summit, Youth Advocates, and Campus 
Clubs, ensuring meaningful youth engagement at every stage. 

 • Champion innovative, rights-based approaches to youth participation, embedding youth voices across 
UNICEF Canada’s research, advocacy, and public engagement work. 

 • Oversee all aspects of youth program delivery—including research, design, communications, resource 
development, event planning, facilitation, and logistics. 

 • Mentor and support youth participants while fostering leadership, confidence, and impact. 
 • Engage youth through dynamic communication channels, presentations, events, and media opportunities. 
 
Strategic Oversight and Program Direction (20%) 
 • Provide strategic leadership for youth participation, aligning programs with UNICEF Canada’s mission , 

priorities, and long-term goals. 
 • Shape the strategic vision and direction for youth participation as a core pillar of the organization’s 

strategic plan. 
 • Monitor national and global trends to identify opportunities and gaps in youth participation, informing 

program direction and impact. 
 • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate youth perspectives into cross-organizational strategies, 

including policy, communications, and brand. 
 • Lead program evaluation to measure impact and inform continuous improvement. 
 • Represent youth programs &amp; participation in strategic planning processes, ensuring youth priorities are 

reflected in decision-making. 
 
Child Safeguarding and Capacity Building (5%) 
 • Serve as UNICEF Canada’s lead on Child Safeguarding, ensuring compliance with UNICEF Global 

standards, Canadian legislation, and best practices. 
 • Participate in UNICEF’s global safeguarding network to stay current on best practices and bring insights 

back to strengthen our domestic efforts. 
 • Develop and implement safeguarding policies, risk mitigation strategies, and youth-friendly participation 

guidelines. 
 • Promote safe, inclusive, and ethical youth engagement across all platforms, ensuring informed consent, 

equity, and cultural competency.

 • Build organizational capacity through training, resources, and collaboration, with a focus on supporting 
youth from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous, newcomers, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. 

 
Partnerships &amp; Revenue Generation (5%) 
 • Oversee the revitalization of the Campus Club Program, engaging students in civic education, fundraising, 

and advocacy, and track &amp; oversee the achievement of annual revenue targets of $70,000. 
 • Collaborate with the Development team to identify and secure funding for youth initiatives. 
 • Steward partnerships and contribute to reporting and impact evaluation for funders. 
 
Build Relationships and Grow Network (5%) 
 • Cultivate and steward new and existing partnerships with national and local youth organizations, especially 

those serving youth from diverse communities and backgrounds. 
 • Represent UNICEF Canada at public events and forums, sharing stories and insights that inspire youth to 

engage in the work we do. 
 • Develop compelling presentations and multimedia content to amplify youth voices and program impact. 
 • Strengthen connections with youth participation leads across the global UNICEF network. 
 
People Management (15%) 
 • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing and motivated team aligned with organizational goals. 
 • Manage youth program participants (e.g., ~10-15 Youth Advocates, ~30 U-Report Ambassadors, ~3000 

Campus Club members), as well as interns and external partners. 
 • Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, and coaching to support growth and engagement. 
 • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. 
 
Qualifications 
 

 • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience designing and delivering youth-focused programs, projects, or 
participation initiatives. 

 • Proven experience working with diverse youth in leadership or facilitation roles (e.g., counsellor, program 
director, instructor). 

 • Strong understanding of child and youth development &amp; participation, ethical engagement practices, and 
protection principles, including safeguarding responsibilities and ethical frameworks. 

 • Collaborative team player who is adaptable, conflict-resilient, open to feedback, and able to lead with 
empathy and humor. 

 • Effective communicator – both written and verbal – with the ability to engage children and youth 
meaningfully. 

 • Strong project management skills, with the ability to initiate, organize, and deliver programs effectively. 
 • Strategic thinker with sound judgment and problem-solving skills. 
 • Proficient written and verbal language skills in French and strong Indigenous cultural competency or 

Indigenous contexts is required. 
 • Proficient with standard office software and social media platforms for youth engagement and program 

promotion. 
 • Willingness to travel locally and nationally as needed.

 • Existing and established relationships with youth organizations, networks, or professionals in Canada is an

The Youth Worker will be required to work Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Position Summary&nbsp;Reporting to the Manager, Children &amp; Youth Services, the Youth Worker is responsible for providing informal support to children and youth in the community by planning and implementing effective and engaging programs for youth and by mentoring and coaching youth and their families. Position Summary: 

Reporting to the EarlyON Program Manager, the EarlyON and BFSP Floater is responsible for 
providing high-quality, flexible support across multiple EarlyON and Black Family Support 
programs and locations. The position will assist in facilitating interactive, play-based learning 
experiences, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for children aged 0-6 years and their 
caregivers. This role requires adaptability, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to 
work collaboratively with various program teams to enhance family engagement and child 
development. 

DUTIES: 

 • Support EarlyON and BFS programs by filling in at various locations as needed, ensuring 
seamless program delivery. 

 • Implement play-based learning activities that promote children’s physical, social, 
emotional, and cognitive development. 

 • Create an inclusive and culturally responsive environment that respects the diverse needs 
of families, including those from equity-deserving groups. 

 • Engage parents and caregivers in the learning process by modeling positive interactions 
and providing guidance on early childhood development. 

 • Assist in planning and executing family events, workshops, and seasonal activities that 
enhance parent-child bonding and community connections. 

 • Ensure program spaces are clean, safe, and well-maintained, monitoring materials and 
resources for availability and safety compliance. Maintain accurate attendance records 
and contribute to program evaluations, data collection, and reporting. 

 • Support families by providing referrals to relevant community resources and services 
when needed. 


 
 • Work collaboratively with team members and external partners to enhance program 

offerings and community engagement. 
 • Perform additional duties as required to support program goals and organizational needs. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early 
Childhood Educators. 

 • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with young children and families in an 
EarlyON or childcare setting. New graduates with relevant experience are welcome to 
apply. 

 • Strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning 
approaches. 

 • Ability to work in diverse communities and implement anti-oppressive and inclusive 
practices. 

 • Experience in facilitating parent-child programs, group discussions, and interactive 
workshops is an asset. 

 • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. 
 • Ability to adapt to different locations and work environments, demonstrating flexibility 

and problem-solving skills. 
 • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required. 
 • Current CPR/First Aid Certification is mandatory. 
 • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel between program 

sites. 
 • Proof of immunization requirements mandated for Early Childhood Educators (ECEs). 
 • Must provide record of immunization mandated for the Early Childhood
