The Board Nominations Committee seeks &nbsp;nominations of qualified candidates to join this dynamic group of leaders to shape the health information profession nationally.Health information is increasingly impacting Canadians’ lives within the health sector and beyond, and a renewed energy in the profession has positively affected the momentum of the College and Association. This is an excellent time for individuals to join our board as we strive to meet industry needs, strengthen our diversity initiatives, and transition to our new strategic plan.As a national, member-based organization, our goal is to ensure that the board of directors includes diverse members with experience in all regions of the country. While geography is one element of the diversity selection criteria, other factors are considered. A skills matrix is used to map the directors’ skills and attributes. It considers several categories, including values, representation, education, experience, and knowledge in areas such as finance, organizational governance, industry, strategy development, law, and human resources. This is crucial as we aim to ensure that the right people are around the table to represent our members’ views across Canada and inform our path forward.Applicant requirements<ul><li>Minimum of five years of experience in health information (or a related field), ethics, law, medicine, or research (a health information education program may be considered as part of this experience)</li><li>A passion for amplifying the importance of health information in the lives of people</li><li>Participation in lifelong learning and/or professional education opportunities</li><li>Current with future trends in the health information profession and the Canadian health care system</li><li>Volunteer participation with an organization</li><li>Previous professional committee or governance experience</li></ul>We welcome applications to make the profession more recognized and impactful. About us:Progressive Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) also known as PAWS Canada, is a volunteer-based charity organization whose mission includes subsidizing access to veterinary care, providing education for pet caregivers, and addressing critical issues such as animal suffering, overpopulation, and the unnecessary euthanasia or surrender of animals to shelters.&nbsp;An essential aspect of our prevention model focuses on the reduction of human distress as our approach integrates prevention and human-focused interventions to create a sustainable impact. Since 1974, the Home County Folk League has brought people together through Canadian folk music. This summer, with the generous support of Donaldson Home Services, we’re proud to present the 50th edition of the Home County Music &amp; Art Festival, continuing our tradition of celebrating music, art and community in&nbsp;Victoria Park, London, Ontario.As we celebrate this milestone year and look ahead to our next chapter, we’re seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join our leadership team and help shape the future of Home County.<h2>Who We’re Looking For:</h2>We are inviting applications from individuals interested in serving on our&nbsp;Board of Directors for a&nbsp;three-year term beginning at our&nbsp;Annual General Meeting in late November.Our Board is hands-on and collaborative – a group of people who roll up their sleeves to make things happen. We’re especially interested in individuals who bring skills in areas such as nonprofit governance, finance, event management, marketing, communications, community engagement or fundraising – and who share our love of folk music, the arts and community connection.<h2>What You Can Expect:</h2><ul><li>Support and promote the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan of the Home County Folk League</li><li>Attend Board meetings, typically held the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7 - 9 pm</li><li>Review and follow governance and operational policies</li><li>Actively participate in at least one Board committee (approximately. 10 hours/month)</li><li>Engage with the organization’s activities both in-person and online</li><li>Attend General Meetings of the membership</li></ul><h2>Why Join Us?</h2>This is an exciting moment for Home County.
