Position Title: Manager, Advancement and Alumni Engagement

an energetic, passionate Manager, Advancement and Alumni Engagement to foster a culture 
of philanthropy within CCNM. Reporting to the CFO, this role consults with institutional 
stakeholders to define the organization’s advancement and philanthropic mission and direction. 
The incumbent will provide vital input on advancement and alumni engagement in strategic and 
operational planning and positioning within the organization. 
 
The Manager, Advancement and Alumni Engagement will be responsible for: 

ï· Creating and executing CCNM’s strategic fundraising plans for major and planned gifts, 
annual fund and giving, alumni engagement program, as well as industry campaigns and 
sponsorship 

ï· Developing and monitoring relevant policies and standards 

ï· Planning and implementation of fundraising events, projects and programs that meet current 
and future financial objectives for CCNM 

ï· Building relationships both internally and externally that includes industry partners, donors, 
employees and alumni 

ï· Consults with institutional stakeholders to define the organization’s advancement and 
philanthropic mission and direction. 

ï· Provides vital input on advancement and alumni engagement in strategic and operational 
planning and positioning within the organization 

ï· Planning, coordinating and assuring implementation of strategies to develop donors and 
contributions that support CCNM as well as maintains accountability and compliance 
standards for donors and funding sources 

ï· Provides daily supervision to staff including volunteers and consultants by determining 
workloads and schedules

QUALIFICATIONS: 

ï· Undergraduate or graduate degree/diploma from an accredited university, college or 
equivalent (corporate wellness, fundraising, database management, commerce, 
business administration, public relations, non-profit management, etc.) 

ï· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fundraising and sponsor/donor management and 
event coordination 


ï· Proven track record of securing philanthropic gifts 

ï· Demonstrated ability and experience developing grant/program funding proposals to 
government, foundations, corporate and private funders. 

ï· Experience using a fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge) 

ï· CFRE designation is an asset 

ï· Highly developed computer literacy in all range of administrative support programs such 
as MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access, specifically with database management 

ï· Previous sales, relationship management and negotiating experience 

ï· Excellent public speaking and presentation skills 

ï· Superior research skills 

ï· Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels 
orally and in writing, and to network and develop business relationships 

ï· Exceptional planning, project management, Organizational, time management and event 
coordination skills 

ï· Strong relationship management skills focused on the cultivation and stewardship of 
current and prospective donors

Organizing and Mobilizing Officer 


The Brock University Faculty Association (BUFA) is the union representing full-time faculty 
and professional librarians at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. BUFA is seeking to 
fill the position of Organizing and Mobilization Officer for a 6-month contract starting in 
October or November of 2025 with opportunity for extension. 

The successful candidate will work in a team environment and report directly to BUFA’s 
President and work directly with the Chief Negotiator and the Contract Action Team Chair. 


Job Description: 


The primary role of the Organizing and Mobilization Officer is to support BUFA’s collective 
bargaining efforts as they relate to member organizing, engagement, and mobilization. The 
successful candidate will work with the union’s Contract Action Team to build on the pre-
existing map of the workplace, develop and perform structure tests, and ensure member 
organization, engagement, and mobilization. Tasks may include meeting with members, 
attending events, research, and planning. This job will require on campus work. 


Qualifications: 

 • a post-secondary degree or diploma; 
 • experience in organizing and mobilization; 
 • experience with unions and collective bargaining is an asset; 
 • superior interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; 
 • strong digital technology skills and familiarity with social media; 
 • the ability to work independently and with minimum day-to-day supervision 


The 6-month contract comes with a salary of $35,000 – $45,000 commensurate with 
education and experience; a benefits package is provided.
