
Youth Support & Program Volunteer
Tenderlife Rescue Canada is a registered charity dedicated to supporting pregnant and parenting young women (ages 13–29) through safe transitional housing, life-skills development, and holistic care.
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and community-minded volunteers to support our transitional housing program and youth services. Volunteers will work alongside staff to enhance program delivery, provide mentorship, and contribute to a safe and supportive environment for residents.
Volunteers may support in one or more of the following areas:
1. Youth & Resident Support
- Assist with organizing recreational and life-skills activities (e.g., parenting skills, budgeting, cooking)
- Provide informal mentorship and positive engagement with residents
- Support childcare activities (non-clinical, supervised)
2. Program & Administrative Support
- Assist with data entry, file organization, and program documentation
- Support intake preparation and resource coordination
- Help maintain inventory of supplies (baby items, food, household goods)
3. Events & Community Engagement
- Support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement activities
- Assist in organizing workshops, outreach events, and awareness campaigns
4. Facility Support
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
Support donation sorting and distribution
Qualifications & Skills
- Interest in supporting vulnerable youth, young mothers, or community development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, responsible, and able to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets (not required):
- Background in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related fields
- Experience in nonprofit or community-based settings
First Aid/CPR certification
Screening Requirements
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required prior to start)
- Reference checks
Completion of volunteer orientation and training
