About Young Bosses in Business Foundation (YBIB)

Young Bosses in Business is a youth-focused nonprofit that empowers young people through entrepreneurship education, hands-on programming, mentorship, and community-based initiatives. We support youth in building business skills, confidence, and real-world readiness through engaging workshops, programs, and partnerships. This placement offers meaningful nonprofit experience where your work directly supports youth programming and community impact.

Placement Overview (Remote)

We’re looking for a student who can help manage and maintain our website and assist with building our membership perks app for YBIB program participants and community members. This is a remote role with real ownership, portfolio-worthy deliverables, and the flexibility to recommend the best tools/platforms to get the job done.

What You’ll Work On

1) Website Management & Maintenance (ongoing)

  • Update webpages (program info, events, forms, announcements)
  • Improve layout, mobile responsiveness, and user experience
  • Fix basic issues (broken links, formatting, site speed)
  • Support integrations (email signups, donation forms, applications, analytics)

2) Membership App Development (build + iterate)

  • Help define what the membership app includes (access rules, tiers, perks, content)
  • Recommend the best build approach (no-code tools like Lovable or alternatives, or another approach you believe fits best)
  • Build an MVP version (member login, perks/offers, announcements, resources, event access)
  • Test, gather feedback, and improve the app over time

Deliverables (what success looks like)

  • A simple website update workflow + checklist (so it’s easy to maintain)
  • An MVP membership app/prototype ready for testing with users
  • Basic documentation so future students can continue smoothly

Ideal Candidate

  • Web design/dev student (or related program) who’s comfortable learning fast
  • Strong communication and organization (remote-friendly)
  • Ability to recommend tools and explain decisions clearly

Bonus Skills (nice to have)

  • Experience with common web platforms (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, etc.)
  • UI/UX basics (Figma, wireframes)
  • Member login systems / Airtable or Firebase / Stripe (optional)
  • No-code app builders (Lovable, Bubble, Glide, Softr, Adalo)

Why This Placement is Valuable

You’ll gain real nonprofit experience while building digital tools that support youth programming and community engagement. You’ll also leave with tangible outcomes for your portfolio (website improvements + a membership app MVP).
