Position: Warming Centre Shift Supervisor
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Location: 136 Spadina Rd Toronto, M5R 2T8
Position Type: Non-union, On call -Contract
Duration: November 01, 2025 until April 15, 2026
Shifts:
✅ Full-Time Positions (3 openings)
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 4:00 PM – 12:00 Am |12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
✅ Part-Time Positions (3 openings)
Schedule: Friday & Saturday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 4:00 PM – 12:00 Am |12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
(The Warming Centre will operate on days that are -5°C or colder, or when the City calls for them to be open.)

About the Role:
CONC is seeking a Warming Centre Shift Supervisor to oversee operations during assigned shifts. You will act as senior staff on site, supervise Warming Centre Workers, liaise with community partners, and ensure service users receive safe, respectful, and dignified care.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support staff; assign tasks and ensure shift coverage.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and escalate issues as required.
  • Manage client intake and decanting; liaise with City duty office and community partners.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and program protocols.
  • Complete shift reports and document incidents.
  • Promote an inclusive, harm reduction-based environment for service users.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and agency initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing client-centered support, including 1+ year in a leadership/shift lead role in a shelter, housing, or community setting.
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Social Services, Community Development, Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Toronto Shelter Standards, conflict resolution strategies, and harm reduction.
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and documentation skills (including MS Office).
  • First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification.
  • Clear criminal record check required.
