Role Overview

The VP Programs is responsible for the professional-development experience of YWiB Vancouver. This role is pivotal in creating member value through meaningful programs such as skills development workshops, mentorship programs, coffee chats, etc.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop YWiB Vancouver's annual programming strategy and execute YWiB’s programs.

● Design and oversee programming such as Skills Development Workshops, Mentorship, Panels & Discussions, coffee chats, and other educational experiences.

● Identify topics and themes that are relevant to members' career development.

● Research emerging industry and workplace trends to inform programming.

● Develop relationships with potential speakers, facilitators, and subject-matter experts.

● Work with speakers to shape content, discussion topics, and learning objectives.

● Ensure programming is practical, relevant, and accessible to members at different career stages.

● Collaborate with the VP Events to translate program concepts into successful events.

● Collaborate with the VP Community to understand member interests and feedback.

● Collect feedback and evaluate the impact of programming.

● Build a library of potential speakers, topics, and program ideas for future teams. Ideal Candidate

● Curious, thoughtful, and passionate about professional development.

● Strong at identifying interesting topics and turning them into engaging programming.

● Comfortable communicating with professionals and potential speakers.

● Strong researcher and communicator.

● Interested in career development, leadership, workplace issues, and/or different industries.

● Experience in education, events, programming, facilitation, or community building is an asset. Success Looks Like
