Breakfast Program Volunteers

Overview

We are seeking friendly, compassionate, and reliable volunteers to join the SCHC Breakfast Program at the HUB. The Breakfast Program provides coffee and a light breakfast to community members each morning. Volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment while helping with food service, set-up, and clean-up.

How to apply: please send us an email at volunteerprogram@schcontario.ca to express your interest. We will provide you with the volunteer application and information on how to obtain a VSC if you do not already have one.

Location: The HUB - 2660 Eglinton Ave E, Scarborough ON M1K 2S3.

Time: 8:30am-12:00pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the breakfast service area before the program begins.
• Preparing and serving coffee and light breakfast items.
• Serving food and beverages through the Community Kitchen window.
• Welcoming and interacting with community members in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Keeping the serving and kitchen areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Restocking supplies and breakfast items as needed.
• Assisting with clean-up after the breakfast program.
• Following food safety, hygiene, and organizational guidelines.
• Working cooperatively with staff and other volunteers.
• Providing general support to ensure the breakfast program runs smoothly.

Mandatory Training (Provided & Required Completion)

All volunteers will receive training to prepare them for their role.
