About Us:
The Breast Cancer Support Fund (BCSF) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment. With 76% of our beneficiaries living on less than $25,000 per year, our mission is to help women in financial need focus on healing rather than the financial burden of their diagnosis.

We are currently seeking a Volunteer PR Professional to help amplify our mission through media outreach, storytelling, and awareness campaigns. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their communication skills to make a tangible difference in the lives of women facing breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute PR strategies to increase visibility and support for BCSF initiatives.

  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and pitch letters to relevant media outlets.

  • Cultivate relationships with journalists, influencers, and media partners.

  • Support awareness and fundraising campaigns through strategic media engagement.

  • Identify PR opportunities, media trends, and partnerships to enhance brand awareness.

  • Assist in crafting compelling stories that highlight beneficiaries, events, and organizational impact.

  • Provide media monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of coverage.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in public relations, communications, or media relations (agency or nonprofit experience an asset).

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with an understanding of media dynamics.

  • Established media contacts (particularly in health, lifestyle, or nonprofit sectors) preferred.

  • Ability to develop creative, results-driven PR strategies.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

  • Passion for supporting individuals affected by breast cancer and contributing to a meaningful cause.

Why Volunteer with Us:

  • Use your expertise to raise awareness and drive real-world impact for a cause that matters.

  • Collaborate with a passionate and purpose-driven team.

  • Gain valuable experience in nonprofit communications and media relations.

  • Flexible, remote-friendly volunteer role.
