Unpaid Volunteer Position

Join us in spreading holiday cheer! SHARE Family & Community Services is looking for Volunteer Leads to help make our Holiday Gift Wrapping & Toy Bank event at Coquitlam Centre a success.

As a volunteer lead, you will coordinate the volunteers at the Gift Wrap & Toy Bank kiosk in accepting donations, storing inventory, refilling supplies, and wrapping gifts. This unpaid volunteer role offers the chance to build leadership skills, connect with the community, while make a real difference this holiday season.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee volunteers and support them throughout each shift.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and ensure kiosk readiness.
  • Manage donations, cash, and gift cards following SHARE procedures.
  • Act as the first point of contact for mall patrons and donors.
  • Accept donations, complete registration and tax receipt forms, and handle inquiries.
  • Record and organize gifts, coordinate wrapping, assist as needed, and ensure accuracy in gift return.
  • Maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere for all guests and volunteers.

Commitment:

  • Approximately 9+ hours per week starting November 22 until December 24, plus a few training hours the week prior.
  • Scheduling is flexible, andwe’ll work with you to find times that fit your availability.
  • A criminal record check will be required prior to final acceptance.
  • Please note that this is a volunteer (unpaid) position.
