York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada's Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta.

Description:
As a Holiday Drive Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in spreading cheer and making a meaningful impact in our community during the holiday season. Volunteers will help distribute supplies, manage booths, and connect with community members—bringing warmth, positivity, and support to those in need. Your enthusiasm and compassion will help brighten the holidays for families and individuals who could use an extra hand.

Key Responsibilities:
- Greet community members and help create a welcoming, festive environment
- Distribute holiday supplies, gifts, and essential resources to participants
- Assist with booth setup, organization, and cleanup throughout the event
- Engage with attendees—listen, connect, and offer kindness and encouragement
- Provide information about available community resources and programs
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth event operations

East Markham: Aaniin Community Center
West Markham: 3100 Steeles Ave
Richmond Hill: 1595 16th Ave

9:00AM - 11:45AM

Who We're Looking For:
- Minimum age: 12
- Able to independently arrive to work on time
- Passionate about volunteering and excited to learn
- Can commit to scheduled time of event
- Fluency in English
- Highly organized, detail-orientated and capable of managing multiple tasks

Bonus Skills:
- Previous experience in event planning and coordinating
- Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English considered an asset
