Volunteer Opportunity: Group Facilitators (Co-Facilitation Role)

Voice Found is a survivor-led community organization supporting individuals affected by childhood sexual abuse, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed care, peer support, and long-term recovery.
We are currently seeking volunteer group facilitators to support our programs through co-facilitation of survivor-focused groups.
This is a meaningful opportunity for individuals interested in building skills in trauma-informed practice, group facilitation, and ethical peer support, while contributing to a supportive and community-driven environment.
About the Role
Volunteer facilitators work alongside Voice Found staff to support group-based programs. This may include structured cohorts or ongoing support spaces.
Responsibilities may include:
- Co-facilitating group sessions with staff or peer supporters
- Supporting safe, respectful, and inclusive group environments
- Presenting or guiding structured material (with support)
- Participating in debriefs and ongoing learning
Facilitators are not expected to lead alone and are supported throughout.
Who This Role Is For
We welcome individuals who are:
- Interested in trauma-informed, community-based work
- Comfortable working in collaborative, team-based environments
- Open to learning, feedback, and reflective practice
Lived experience is welcomed but not required. Facilitators may come from a range of backgrounds, including social services, psychology, healthcare, education, or community work.
Training & Support
All volunteers will receive:
- Ethical Peer Support (EPS) Training (provided at no cost)
- Role-specific facilitator training
- Ongoing mentorship, supervision, and check-ins
EPS training builds skills in:
- Trauma-informed peer support
- Boundaries and ethical practice
- Communication and relational safety
This is a structured and transferable skill set relevant across many helping professions.
Requirements
- Completion of Voice Found training (including EPS)
- Participation as a facilitator-in-training before co-leading
- Review and adherence to organizational policies
- Police Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Check required) for roles involving direct client interaction
- Ability to communicate capacity and engage in reflective practice
