
Volunteer Executive Director
AI Nexus for Black Innovators (AINBI)
Remote | Canada | Approximately 10 hours per week
Minimum Commitment: 6 Months

AINBI is seeking a Volunteer Executive Director to help lead the organization’s next stage of growth, partnerships, and national impact.
The Executive Director will work closely with AINBI’s leadership, Board, volunteers, and National Advisory Council to support organizational priorities, partnerships, programs, funding opportunities, and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day organizational coordination and implementation
- Support strategic planning and organizational growth
- Coordinate programs, projects, volunteers, and key deliverables
- Build relationships with government, technology companies, universities, funders, and community organizations
- Identify funding, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities
- Support grant proposals and partnership development
- Contribute to AINBI’s work in AI education, entrepreneurship, research, policy, and national engagement
- Support the National Advisory Council and major events, including the Black AI Conference
- Strengthen internal systems, governance, and organizational sustainability
- Provide regular progress updates to AINBI leadership and the Board
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and highly organized leader with experience in areas such as:
Nonprofit leadership, artificial intelligence, technology, innovation, public policy, entrepreneurship, partnerships, fundraising, economic development, research, or community leadership.
Strong communication, relationship-building, leadership, and project management skills are important.

Commitment
Approximately 10 hours per week, remote within Canada.
We ask for a minimum six-month commitment to ensure continuity and meaningful contribution to AINBI’s growth.
