About Foodeliver:

Foodeliver is a community-based nonprofit that collects surplus food from local businesses and delivers it directly to newcomer and low-income families across Ottawa. Our mission is to reduce food waste and fight hunger while promoting dignity, inclusion, and care, because kindness travels on four wheels.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for reliable and compassionate Volunteer Drivers to help deliver food hampers to newcomer and food-insecure families across Ottawa. As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll play a direct role in ensuring families receive fresh, nutritious food with dignity and care.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy giving back to their community, have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, and want to make a meaningful difference through a flexible weekly commitment.

Responsibilities:

• Pick up food from the designated pickup location.
• Deliver food safely and respectfully to assigned families across Ottawa.
• Follow the assigned delivery route and complete deliveries within the scheduled timeframe.
• Communicate with the Foodeliver team regarding delivery status or any issues that arise.
• Handle food carefully to maintain quality during transportMaintain confidentiality and treat all families with respect and compassion.

Ideal Skills:

• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Comfortable driving within Ottawa.
• Reliable, punctual, and organized.
• Friendly, respectful, and compassionate.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work independently and follow delivery instructions.
• Passion for supporting newcomer families, food security, and community initiatives.
• Previous volunteer or delivery experience is an asset but not required.
