About AINBI
AI Nexus for Black Innovators (AINBI) advances the participation, leadership, and visibility of Black communities in artificial intelligence, technology, innovation, and public policy.
Position Overview
AINBI is seeking a passionate and strategic Volunteer Director of Youth Engagement to lead initiatives that connect Black youth with opportunities in artificial intelligence, technology, innovation, education, and leadership.
The Director will work closely with AINBI leadership, youth volunteers, schools, community organizations, and industry partners to design engaging programs and strengthen youth participation across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead AINBI’s youth-engagement strategy.
- Build relationships with schools, colleges, universities, youth organizations, and community groups.
- Design and coordinate youth programs, workshops, webinars, mentorship activities, and networking events.
- Recruit, support, and engage youth volunteers and ambassadors.
- Identify educational, employment, mentorship, and leadership opportunities for Black youth.
- Create safe and inclusive spaces for youth voices, ideas, and participation.
- Gather youth feedback and ensure their perspectives inform AINBI’s programs and advocacy.
- Support outreach to speakers, mentors, employers, and technology professionals.
- Represent AINBI at youth events, consultations, and community meetings.
- Track youth participation, program outcomes, and engagement activities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in youth engagement, education, community development, mentorship, outreach, or program coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with youth from diverse communities.
- The ability to plan and coordinate programs and events.
- A respectful, supportive, and youth-centred approach.
- Strong organization and follow-up skills.
- An interest in artificial intelligence, technology, innovation, and Black youth advancement.
Experience working with schools, youth-serving organizations, nonprofits, or community programs is an asset.
