About Brighton Children's Centre

Brighton Children's Centre is a not-for-profit licensed child care organization dedicated to providing high-quality early learning and care for children while supporting families throughout our community. Our Board of Directors plays a vital role in ensuring the organization remains financially sustainable, strategically focused, and responsive to the evolving needs of children, families, and educators.

We are currently seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

As a Board Director, you will:

• Help guide the strategic direction and long-term vision of the Centre.

• Advocate for accessible, high-quality early learning and child care.
• Contribute to decisions that positively impact children, families, educators, and the broader community.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of volunteer directors and the Executive Director.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about strengthening their community and supporting early childhood education.

While all interested candidates are encouraged to apply, we are particularly interested in individuals with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Financial management or accounting
• Legal or regulatory compliance
• Human resources
• Fundraising and donor engagement
• Event planning
• Marketing and communications
• Public relations

We value diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and professional backgrounds. Previous board experience is welcome but not required.

Commitment

This is a volunteer governance position. Board members attend regular meetings throughout the year and participate in strategic discussions, committee work, and organizational planning.
