About INGES
Immigrants Navigation & Growth Empowerment Services (INGES) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers, job seekers, entrepreneurs, youth, and underserved communities through employment services, skills development, entrepreneurship training, digital literacy programs, and community engagement initiatives.
As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our board of directors and help shape the future of our mission and impact.
Position Summary
Board directors provide governance, strategic oversight, and leadership to ensure INGES fulfills its mission, remains financially sustainable, and delivers meaningful programs that strengthen communities.
Directors work collaboratively with fellow board members and organizational leadership to guide long-term planning, support fundraising efforts, monitor organizational performance, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and nonprofit best practices.

- Nonprofit governance
- Human resources
- Finance and accounting
- Fundraising and grant development
- Legal and compliance
- Employment services and workforce development
- Community engagement

- Government relations and public policy
- Education and training
Individuals with lived experience as newcomers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, or professionals serving diverse communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in Board meetings
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth
- Support fundraising, partnerships, and community outreach efforts
- Review organizational policies and governance practices
- Monitor financial and operational performance
- Serve on committees or working groups as required
- Act as an ambassador for INGES within the community
- Support the Executive Director and leadership team through strategic guidance
Qualifications
- Commitment to the mission and values of INGES
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Previous board experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to contribute expertise, networks, and community connections

Term
2-Year Volunteer Board Appointment (Renewable)
Time Commitment
Approximately 4–8 hours per month, including board meetings, committee participation, and special events.
