TRRUST Collective Impact Project Manager

TRRUST is a Vancouver-based collective impact initiative seeking to improve outcomes for youth transitioning out of care (https://www.mcs.bc.ca/trrust).

TRRUST is seeking to hire a full-time (37.5 hrs per week) project manager. The position is initially funded for 12 months with the possibility of an extension.

The collective aims to hire a dynamic, collaborative and forward-thinking manager who can support the day-to-day functions of the collective; build and sustain multi-sectoral relationships; and support a collaborative response to the needs of youth transitioning out of government care in Metro Vancouver.

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in improving outcomes for youth transitioning out of care.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with community partners and youth who have transitioned out of care.
  • Supporting and supervising TRRUST employees, contractors and practicum students.
  • Providing logistical support for TRRUST’s clusters (working groups) and passion projects, including the coordination and recording of meetings as required.
  • Reporting to the TRRUST strategic advisory.
  • Attending meetings on behalf of TRRUST as required.
  • Coordinating and supporting meetings of the Collective Young Leaders, and ensuring representation of diverse youth with recent care experience.
  • Facilitating regular communication between TRRUST partners including through the organization and facilitation of quarterly gatherings of collective members, and the weekly news blast.
  • Working with the backbone organization to identify potential funding sources to support TRRUST’s goals and priorities, and working with partner agencies to support their grant applications for TRRUST related activities.
  • Supporting the role of the backbone organization in the fulfilment of its duties, including preparing progress reports and other deliverables required by funders.
  • Working with the backbone organization and collective members to maintain a full understanding of the current challenges experienced by youth transitioning out of care and the agencies that support them.
  • Providing support to partner organizations to align their work to the collective’s Common Agenda as requested.
  • Coordinating advocacy supporting activities of partners as needed.

Responsible to:

The Project Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with youth, partner agencies and relevant members of the wider community. The project manager will report directly to the Executive Director of the backbone organization (McCreary Centre Society), and TRRUST’s strategic advisory committee.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to see the overall vision of the collective, while effectively working on day-to-day tasks with youth and partner agencies to achieve that vision.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate, a combination of the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in a related field
  • An undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with cross sector colleagues
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a partially unstructured environment
  • Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
  • Commitment to concepts and conditions of collective impact
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong community engagement and facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Existing relationships with, or ability to build relationships with, a cross-sectoral range of stakeholders in Metro Vancouver.

Compensation

Salary is $66,300 ($34 per hour).

Applications for a part-time position (minimum 20 hrs per week) will be considered.

Base location is flexible and a work station is available at 3552 East Hastings Street (some travel will be required to attend meetings).
