Join CCI-LEX as a volunteer English teacher and empower refugees and newcomers with the language skills they need to succeed—all while gaining valuable teaching experience.

No teaching experience? No problem! We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. Whether you’re new to teaching or have years of experience, we provide everything you need to succeed, including detailed lesson plans and a structured curriculum. You won’t need to create your own materials—just bring your enthusiasm!

We are currently looking for both online and in-person volunteers who can complete their training as soon as possible and commit to teaching on a regular basis beginning in September 2025. There may be opportunities for in-person volunteers ito teach in the summer months as well.

What You’ll Need

  • Fluency in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ready to teach a 2 or 3 hour class a week (or substitute teach 3-4 times a month)
  • Able to commit for minimum 6 months
  • Familiar with good volunteer practices
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
