Tax Clinic Ambassador Volunteer
Purpose
To inform food program visitors of Food Banks Mississauga’s free Tax Clinic by providing general information and marketing materials at Neighbourhood Food Bank locations.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older, with a mature and positive attitude.
- Able to travel independently to the food program location selected for each shift.
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and enjoy engaging with the public.
- Highly aware of the need to provide accurate information about the free Tax Clinic service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated work ethic and passion to further Food Banks Mississauga’s mission.
- Proficiency in languages such as Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil, Polish, or others, is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on-site at your designated food program location and check in with the venue supervisor. (Please note this role is NOT at 4544 Eastgate Parkway).
- Retrieve Tax Clinic flyers from the venue supervisor.
- Greet patrons, distribute flyers, provide information, and direct people to the registration QR code.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the Food Banks Mississauga brand.
Time Commitment: At least two shifts per month, from February 16 - April 17, 2026.
Reports to: Food Banks Mississauga Tax Clinic Coordinator
Training Provided: Remote training and support to learn the language, branding, and expectations of Food Banks Mississauga.
Benefits: Inform vulnerable community members of valuable free tax services provided by Food Banks Mississauga.
