Sighted Guide Volunteer

Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) is looking for volunteers to support attendees at our upcoming conference at the North York Central Library.

Event Details

• Date: Thursday, October 8, 2026
• Time: 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Location: North York Central Library, 5120 Yonge Street
• Event Space: Concourse Event Space, located one floor below the main library
• Lunch: Lunch and refreshments will be provided

About the Role

We are looking for sighted guide volunteers to assist attendees who are blind or have low vision throughout the event.

Volunteers may help with:

• Guiding attendees to their chairs or tables
• Assisting attendees with getting food and refreshments
• Helping attendees navigate the event space
• Providing general assistance as needed throughout the day

No previous experience is required. We will provide guidance and a brief refresher on sighted guiding when you arrive.

Volunteer Commitment

We are asking volunteers to be available from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. However, if you are only available for part of the day, we would still love to hear from you.
