Property Maintenance Volunteer

Duties

• Maintaining the building and property directly impacts the people we serve in creating a safe and welcoming environment where they feel cared for and are shown dignity.
• This volunteer role requires ad hoc support for both locations, 156 Main St N and 253 Queen St E locations. It will require flexible availability, ranging from 1 - 10 hours per week depending on need.
• Maintain an organized and secure inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, performing tasks such as checking smoke detectors and fire extinguishers regularly.
• Changes bulbs/tubes as needed.
• Performs minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc.
• Contact and coordinate with the appropriate maintenance service for repairs.
• Responsible for vandalism clean up and repair within skill level.
• Scheduling HVAC servicing.
• Work in collaboration with the Director of Operations
• Communicate with the team in regards to progress
