The Program Support Assistant Volunteer's role is to support staff and members to ensure smooth program implementation.
Responsibilities include:
- - Supporting members in meaningful participation in program activities through hands-on and/or verbal support
- Helping program staff with set-up and clean-up of activities to keep the day running efficiently
- Engaging in friendly conversations and interactions with members - - Creating an enthusiastic and engaging environment
- Attending training sessions and meetings as required
- Maintaining confidentiality of all member information
- Adhering to all Steer Friends policies and procedures
Requirements of Role and Screening:
- - 18 years of age or older.
- An active interest in helping individuals with disabilities in a compassionate, understanding and patient manner.
- Demonstrated dependability, reliability, initiative and flexibility.
- Able to attend additional training.
- Satisfactory Volunteer Application process includes Vulnerable Sector Screening
Minimum commitment of 3 months.
Shifts between Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
3-4 hour shifts or as assigned.
