Title: Program Coordinator, Strength Found

Reports to: Director, Strength Found

Location: Voice Found, Ottawa, ON

Classification: Part-Time, Fixed-Term Contract to Mar 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension

Compensation: $28/hour

We are looking for an organized, collaborative, and trauma-informed Program Coordinator to support the continued growth and delivery of Strength Found, Voice Found's peer-based program for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Strength Found provides survivor-centred opportunities for connection, learning, healing, and peer support through facilitated groups, educational programming, and community engagement. As the program continues to evolve, we are seeking a skilled coordinator who can balance strong operational oversight with a commitment to participant experience, program quality, and continuous improvement.

In this role, the successful candidate will coordinate day-to-day program operations, support participant engagement, oversee volunteer and peer supporter activities, facilitate programming, and contribute to evaluation and reporting activities. Working closely with the Director, Strength Found, the Program Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening program infrastructure, supporting program growth, and helping ensure high-quality, trauma-informed services for participants.

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator, Strength Found, supports the planning, coordination, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Voice Found's Strength Found program. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed programming for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse while supporting program growth, participant engagement, volunteer coordination, and organizational learning.

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Director, Strength Found, and serves as a key operational support to the program. As the program evolves, this role is intended to build leadership capacity and may provide a pathway to future management responsibilities.

The Program Coordinator provides operational leadership for the Strength Found peer support workforce, including volunteer and paid peer supporters, while supporting program quality, participant experience, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Program coordination and delivery

  • Coordinate day-to-day Strength Found program operations.
  • Support participant intake, registration, scheduling, and communication.
  • Coordinate program calendars, group cycles, and facilitator assignments.
  • Ensure program documentation, forms, and resources remain current.
  • Support implementation of new program initiatives and service enhancements.

Group Facilitation and participant support

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate peer support groups, workshops, and educational sessions.
  • Provide non-clinical participant support within the scope of the role.
  • Support a safe, trauma-informed, survivor-centred environment.
  • Collaborate with facilitators and clinical staff to address emerging participant needs.

Program evaluation and reporting

  • Support the collection and analysis of program data and participant feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records within EMHware and other organizational systems.
  • Assist in preparing program reports for leadership, funders, and organizational evaluation activities.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Leadership support and succession development

  • Work closely with the Director to develop an understanding of program operations, partnerships, funding requirements, and strategic priorities.
  • Represent the program at meetings and community events as delegated.
  • Support special projects, policy development, and program planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a backup resource during periods of the Director's absence.

Peer workforce and volunteer coordination/supervision

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of Strength Found peer supporters, including volunteer and paid peer support roles.
  • Support recruitment, screening, onboarding, orientation, scheduling, and retention of peer supporters and volunteers.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to peer supporters within established program policies and procedures
  • Monitor peer support capacity and participant assignments, and make recommendations regarding workload distribution
  • Facilitate regular peer supporter meetings, check-ins, and communications.
  • Identify training, development, and support needs and collaborate with the Director to address them.
  • Maintain records related to volunteer engagement, training, hours, and participation.
  • Support recognition, appreciation, and retention initiatives for volunteers and peer supporters

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience coordinating programs, projects, services, or community initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or educational sessions.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with data collection

Assets

  • Bilingualism preferred (English/French)
  • Experience within the non-profit, social services, mental health, or survivor-serving sectors.
  • Familiarity with EMHware or similar case management systems.
  • Knowledge of peer support principles.
  • Lived experience relevant to Voice Found's mission.

Working Conditions: This position involves regular interaction with individuals who have experienced trauma and may include exposure to sensitive content. Appropriate supervision, support, and wellness resources are provided.

Some evening programming and occasional travel may be required.
