Thank you for joining Reimagining Plastics, a community-driven initiative

transforming plastic waste into creative solutions. This project wouldn't be

possible without passionate volunteers like you. Your creativity, voice, and

energy will help inspire sustainable change in our community.

Reimagining Plastics hosts public upcycling workshops and shares content to raise awareness about plastic pollution, creativity, and sustainability. Our focus:

Remote Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Canva Content Creators

Help design engaging, branded visuals for: Social media posts, Event promotion Educational Informational Slides

Tools You'll Use: Canva Shared Google Drive folder

Skills Needed: Basic Canva skills Creativity and eye for layout Ability to follow brand colours & logo guidelines

Social Media Caption Writers

Craft short, impactful captions for: Workshop promos Educational content (plastic facts, DIYs)

Tone: Friendly, empowering, community-based Style Tips:

Use emojis sparingly but intentionally 🌍♻✨ Keep it short and engaging — think ~80–120 words Always include a Call To Action (e.g., “Sign up now,” “Join us!”)

In-Person Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Workshop Facilitators

Support our in-person upcycling workshops by:

Helping set up materials and signage

Welcoming participants and guiding them

Leading small groups in hands-on upcycling

activities

Assisting with clean-up and wrap-up photos

Art Installation Helpers

Support our community art installation in person:

Assist with designing or building large-scale art

using upcycled plastic materials

Help with transportation, assembly, and setup of

the installation at the Burlington Centre

Maintain and repair the art piece as needed (e.g.,

replacing loose parts, cleaning)

Share the story of the piece with visitors and

the public

Weekly Commitment (Flexible!) Content creation: 1–2 hours/week
